We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas, have a curious nature and are passionate about working in an Engineering environment which focuses on building products to achieve the company's strategic goals. You’ll get to work with teams from across Checkout.com ’s portfolio of products and services who all have a real customer first philosophy.

As a Senior Engineer in Payments Engineering Operations, you will take on a strategic role focused on scaling efficiency across our development lifecycle. Working at the intersection of multiple engineering groups, this role offers a broad perspective on our entire payments ecosystem. It requires a professional who can see the "big picture," ensuring that tactical automation aligns with long-term architectural health.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Identify & Transform: Collaborate with multiple engineering groups to identify manual, repetitive tasks, and lead the transition of these responsibilities into robust, automated solutions.

• Scale Efficiency: Ensure success by scaling efficiency across the development lifecycle, aligning your tactical fixes with broad architectural strategy.

• Mentorship & Coaching: Serve as a mentor and catalyst, guiding team members in spotting optimization opportunities and coaching them through high-quality implementation.

• System Design: Design flexible and scalable systems that work well within a larger network of microservices.

• Operational Excellence: Build, own and operate your systems to the highest levels of resilience and service.

What We're Looking For:

• Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Software Engineering Principles: Strong understanding of software development principles in either a backend or full stack environment.

• Communication: Great communication skills and ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

• Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• AI Curiosity: Someone who is AI proficient or AI curious, who will be hungry to embrace what the latest technology has to offer to enhance yours and your teams productivity.

Nice To Haves:

Domain Knowledge: Payments or financial knowledge is a plus, but not a necessity
