Overview
Checkout.com is a British payments company founded in 2012 that processes card and alternative payments for large digital merchants, and it competes by building its own connections to schemes and acquirers rather than reselling another processor's infrastructure. That vertical integration is the basis of its pitch on authorisation rates: a payment that fails for a technical reason is lost revenue, and controlling the whole path lets it retry and route more intelligently. Headquartered in London, it works with merchants including Netflix, Sony and eBay, and it has expanded into stablecoin settlement alongside conventional card processing.
