About the Role
This is a ground-up, one-person US outpost role for an open-source ML/AI infrastructure platform, sitting directly alongside the founding team. You will own the company's entire San Francisco presence, turning community relationships and technical evangelism into a measurable, repeatable growth pipeline.
What You'll Do
Launch and run a bi-weekly SF meetup series targeting the ML infrastructure crowd, growing it from zero to a must-attend event.
Represent the company at AI/ML meetups, hackathons, and conferences across the Bay Area, building a visible personal brand and network.
Act as the community connector, introducing people to each other and turning relationships into sustained community momentum.
Evangelize the platform through talks, blog posts, social content, and short demo videos grounded in real community insights.
Demo a Python-based framework live in front of technical audiences and hold your own with ML engineers on technical questions.
Instrument community and product signals (using tools like Mixpanel, GitHub, CRM, and data enrichment platforms) into automated enrichment, scoring, and follow-up workflows so every conversation becomes a traceable pipeline.
Feed market intelligence back to the product and GTM teams: what engineers are building, what frustrates them, and who is evaluating what.
What We're Looking For
1 to 3 or more years in DevRel, community building, growth, or developer-facing GTM roles, with a track record of hosting events and converting engagement into business outcomes.
Comfortable demoing and explaining Python frameworks live, reading code, working with APIs, and communicating technical concepts to ML engineers.
Demonstrated experience building developer communities or technical event series from scratch, with measurable growth in attendance and engagement.
GTM or growth-systems orientation, not a purely marketing-focused background.
Proficiency with modern GTM stack tools: CRM platforms, data enrichment tools, API integrations, and basic automation workflows.
Experience using product analytics, GitHub signals, and CRM data to measure community and event ROI and track pipeline.
Proven ability to create technical content (blog posts, demo videos, social posts) that resonates with developer audiences.
Track record of turning manual, one-off community activities into repeatable, scalable systems.
Self-directed and comfortable running a solo outpost with direct access to leadership for strategy and direction.
Experience in early-stage or startup environments rather than large enterprises.
Existing network in the SF AI, ML, or infrastructure community is a strong plus.
Familiarity with MLOps, LLMOps, or agent infrastructure landscapes is a plus.
Experience with open-source communities, product-led growth, or usage-based GTM motions is a plus.
