Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated medical campus that includes diagnostic centers, outpatient surgery and a 24-hour emergency departmentlocatedin thestate-of-the-arthospital. Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education.

As an Anesthesia Technician, you will be under the supervision of licensed anesthesia providers asa partof the anesthesia care team. You will beassistinganesthesia caregivers and CRNAs to provide safe,efficientand cost-effective anesthesiacarein preparation for routine and complex surgicalprocedures. You will be preparing andmaintainingsupplies, patient monitoringdevicesand anesthesia delivery systemsperioperatively.By doing so, you willassistin providing safe,efficientand cost-effective anesthesia care in preparation for routine and complex surgical procedures. You will seean averageof 30 cases pershift,offering an opportunity to see new and exciting environments every day.Thisposition is an excellent steppingstonetoothers in the department and beyond.

A caregiver in this position works days from11:30AM- 8:00PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Stock the carts and surgical suites with the required supplies as outlined on the anesthesia surgical suite stock par list.

• Assistwith difficult airway management byassistingwith equipment needs from the providers.

• Assistwith lines and specialty room set-ups.

• Disassemble,decontaminateand sterilize anesthesia equipment and supplies.

• Report equipment problems to the management team.

• Perform Point of Care (POCT) testing procedures, afteran initialapproved competency has been completed.

• Effectively communicate with anesthesia and operating room staff toassuredaily operating room assignments are prioritized at the start of each shift.

• Efficiently transport all anesthesia related equipment and supplies to and from outside of Operating Rooms off-site locations.

• Maintain complete andaccuraterecords and check the status of orders and equipment.

• Maintain an adequate supply of all stock items inworkroom and keep the work room clean and inan orderlycondition.

• Maintain anesthesia supplies by establishing inventory levels, requisitioningsuppliesand restocking supplies.

• Maintain equipment by preparing,testingand setting up a variety of anesthetic equipment for surgical use, troubleshoot equipment for problems orrepairsand perform preventative maintenance and routine cleaning.

• Participate in turning overroomsassuring minimal downtime between cases.

• Retrieve and appropriately distribute the equipment necessary to prepare a patient for anesthesia.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma or GED

• One year of experience working in a healthcare settingOR successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or similar healthcare-related training program OR Bachelor’s Degree

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within new hire period

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Knowledge of medical terminology

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as Outlook, Word,Excelor PowerPoint

• Direct care and/or surgical/OR environmentexperience

Physical Requirements:

• Extended periods walking, standing, lifting and carrying equipment (usually not over 20 lbs.).
• Capable of pushing and maneuvering equipment weighing up to 150 pounds. May be exposed to bodily fluids.
• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
