As a Materials Management Technician I, you will support the Main Campus Service Center by delivering products, receiving/reconciling items at the receiving dock, issuing storeroom stocksupplies and stocking supplies on various floors, ORs and clinical areas. In this role, your work is vital to the overall organization and functioning of the hospital system, allowing you to indirectly improve the lives of patients, caregivers,and the community every day.
A caregiver in this position works Wednesday-Saturday 5:00am - 3:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Monitor the flow of traffic into dock areas, prioritizing deliveries to ensure the safe receipt of goods and supplies.
Upload freight, supplies, packages, and perishable items from dock facilities using materials handling equipment.
Verify accuracy of shipments, check for damage to goods, document variances of orders, and resolve incomplete deliveries and other related problems with purchasing and accounting.
Prepare goods and supplies for distribution, prioritizing deliveries, sortingand labeling loads ensuring the safe, correctand timelydelivery of orders.
Properly pack and determinemethod of shipment to ensure timelydelivery of goods for outbound shipments.
Receive storeroom stock items from shipping and receiving area, unpack and inspect items for damage,verifyaccuracy of shipment and inputinformation in the warehouse management system.
Stock picking locations using the warehouse management system, either manually or utilizingmaterials handling equipment according to identifyinginformation (size, style, and numbers)ensuring the safe movement of materials.
Performaphysical count of stock for inventory control verification and rotate stock to minimize loss of materials.
Survey, fill and stock nursing floors and clinical areas to maintainPar Level/Automatic Stocking Systems.
Communicate with Nurse Managers and Department designeesto fillareasstocking needs and anticipatefuture needs.
Deliver items using necessary equipment to appropriate hospitalnursing stations, unload and unpack cases,and stockdesignatedstorage areas with supplies.
Deliversupplies, packages, linen, and food from AGV Depots.
Where appropriate, obtain signature verification that supplies were received.
Handle rush storeroom orders.
Maintain cleanliness of the storeroom area.
Collect pallets from the areaand stackthemforpickup.
Complete three months of on-the-job training to learn locations of clinic desks, departments, delivery routesand proper operation of equipment.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Basic knowledge of mathematics sufficientto add and subtract as requiredto maintainaccuratelogs
Knowledge of computer systems including bar code readers, handheld computers, and printers
Must pass the Service Center certification training program for the operation of material handling power equipment and maintainthe certification through periodic reviews
This certification must be obtained during the 90-daynew hire period
One year of experience, preferably in a warehouse, manufacturing, or assembly environment
Three months on-the-job training to learn locations of clinic desks, departments, delivery routesand proper operation of equipment
Can operatematerials handling equipment
Must be self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Must be comfortable using touchscreen computers
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting items that weigh up to 80 pounds.
- Requires the ability to push a fully loaded cart weighing up to 800 pounds, and pull a 2500 pound pallet using a manual pallet jack.
- Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
- Lifts and carries.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to within normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
