Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Cash Application Specialist to join our OTC Team.

This role would be responsible for daily tracking customer payments in bank, accurately applying the payments, researching payments, researching discrepancies, reconciling bank statement and customer accounts, and supporting the accounts receivable process.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately post and apply customer payments received through ACH, wire transfers, checks, credit cards, and lockbox services.

• Research for invoice details from payments, through Accounts Receivable statement, Customer accounts, interaction with Collections & Sales.
• Research and resolve unapplied, misapplied, or unidentified payments.
• Investigate payment discrepancies and collaborate with customers, Accounts Receivable, Sales, and Customer Service teams to resolve issues.
• Reconcile daily cash receipts with bank deposits and accounting records.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cash application and reconciliation reports.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities related to cash receipts.
• Process payment adjustments, refunds, and account transfers in accordance with company policies.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and audit requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve cash application processes and recommend efficiency enhancements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 6 to 12 years of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or a related accounting function.
• Experience in working in manual environment (working on Excel).
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including functions such as VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables, and basic data analysis.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with high-volume payment processing.
• Knowledge of banking platforms, lockbox processing, and electronic payment methods.
• Experience with automation tools or cash application software.
• Continuous improvement or process optimization experience.

Work Schedule & Location Requirements

• This position supports the U.S. business hours and requires working the U.S. shift.
• The standard working hours are 3:30 PM to 12:30 AM. During the month-end close period, the shift changes to 5:30 PM to 2:30 AM to support market and critical business activities.
• During the transition and knowledge transfer phase, candidates will be required to work from the office five days a week. Once the transition is complete and the process has stabilized, the work arrangement will be reviewed in accordance with business requirements and company policy.
