Key Responsibilities :
Reliability & Observability :
- Define and report SLOs, SLIs and error budgets; close monitoring gaps across every customer journey
- Own Datadog end to end (APM, logs, metrics, RUM, Synthetics, SLOs, dashboards) and manage monitors as code with Terraform
- Instrument Java, Python and Node.js services and keep alerts actionable by continuously removing noise
Incident Response :
- Act as Incident Commander; own PagerDuty services, escalation policies and integrations
- Lead root-cause analysis, blameless postmortems and weekly incident reviews; drive MTTD and MTTR down
Cloud, IaC & CI/CD :
- Operate and harden AWS workloads (ECS/Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway, Cognito, RDS, S3, SQS/SNS, IAM, VPC)
- Write and review Terraform at scale; maintain GitHub Actions / CodeBuild pipelines and service templates
- Partner with developers on Java / Spring Boot resilience : timeouts, retries, connection pools, JVM tuning
Security, Compliance & Cost :
- Run access reviews and key rotation; support SOC 2 and PCI controls and audit evidence
- Protect sensitive data in telemetry and work with InfoSec on Cloudflare WAF and attack detection
- Own observability spend : usage analysis, commit planning and optimisation
Automation & Leadership :
- Remove toil through automation, self-healing workflows and AI-assisted operations
- Act as SRE lead for the client : own the roadmap and sprint board, present the weekly status report, and mentor SREs
- Coordinate with engineering teams to unblock delivery
About You :
- 6+ years as an SRE, DevOps or Platform Engineer, including experience leading reliability for a production platform
- Strong Java or Python (both preferred) for automation and a good understanding of Spring Boot microservices
- Hands-on AWS, Datadog, PagerDuty and Terraform in production
- Proven SLO ownership and incident command for customer-facing, regulated systems
- Good to have working with Security teams on SOC 2, PCI or similar standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to client leadership with US overlap
Bonus Points For :
- Experience with financial systems or loan origination platforms
- AIOps, LLM-based tooling or self-healing remediation in production
- AWS, Terraform or Datadog certifications, and FinOps experience
