Key responsibilities:

Journeys and automations

• Maintain, troubleshoot and enhance Journey Builder journeys and Automation Studio automations, and build new ones when needed.
• Monitor automation runs, imports and SQL queries, and fix failures before they affect recipients.
• Simplify automations over time to reduce manual effort and failure points.

Data and governance

• Design and maintain data extensions, data filters and sendable/relational data models.
• Keep subscriber data high quality, including consent, unsubscribe handling, suppression and list hygiene.
• Support data flows between Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud, including Marketing Cloud Connect.

Email templates and content

• Build and maintain email templates, content blocks and landing pages.
• Write and debug AMPscript (and SSJS where appropriate) for personalization and dynamic content.
• Make sure communications meet accessibility, branding and privacy requirements.

Support, testing and release

• Resolve escalated Marketing Cloud incidents within agreed service levels, and do root cause analysis on recurring issues.
• Test all changes, including test sends, rendering checks and data validation, and record test cases.
• Take part in sprint planning, estimation, change reviews and release readiness.

Reporting and enablement

• Maintain tracking, analytics and reporting on send performance and deliverability.
• Train business users on new Marketing Cloud features and releases, and keep documentation current.

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud development and administration.
• Strong skills in Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio and Content Builder.
• Advanced AMPscript and SQL, plus working knowledge of SSJS.
• Experience with data extensions, subscriber and consent management, and data governance.
• Experience with Marketing Cloud Connect and Salesforce CRM integration.
• Experience with production support under defined service levels.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum using Jira and Confluence.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to business stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

• Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer and/or Email Specialist certification. Marketing Cloud Administrator or Consultant certification is an asset.
• Experience with multi-business-unit Marketing Cloud environments.
• Familiarity with Service Cloud and Experience Cloud.
• Experience with Marketing Cloud APIs (REST/SOAP) and deliverability monitoring.
• Public-sector or regulated-industry experience, including Canadian privacy (CASL, PIPEDA) and accessibility requirements.

How we work

• Hours: Standard business hours, Eastern Time (Monday to Friday). You may occasionally need to join escalations for high-priority incidents.
• Delivery model: Agile sprints with regular releases, Salesforce seasonal release cycles, and ITIL-aligned incident, problem and change management.
• Tools: Jira / Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bitbucket/Git, Postman and automated testing tools such as Provar, Appium, Zephyr and JMeter.
• Service levels: The work is measured against defined service levels for response, restoration and escalation.
• Knowledge sharing: The team keeps runbooks and knowledge base articles current and cross-trains, so knowledge is never held by one person.
