Associate Business Analyst - Codup

About the Role:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Associate Business Analyst to join our team and support the delivery of eCommerce (B2C and B2B) and custom web solutions for international clients.

The ideal candidate understands software development processes and is comfortable working between clients, business stakeholders, designers, developers, and QA teams. You will understand business requirements, document functional requirements, support project planning, coordinate with technical teams, and help ensure delivered solutions meet client expectations. We work AI-first. You will use AI tools daily to research faster, draft and structure documentation, and validate requirements, so more of your time goes to client understanding, critical thinking, and quality decisions. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to build a career in Business Analysis in a software and digital solutions environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in and contribute to client discovery and requirements-gathering sessions to understand business needs, workflows, and objectives.
• Analyze requirements and translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for design and development teams.
• Prepare and maintain BRDs, SRSs, SOWs, functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, and test cases.
• Use AI tools to speed up documentation, requirement analysis, and research (e.g., turning meeting notes into structured requirements, drafting user stories and acceptance criteria, generating test case coverage, and identifying gaps or edge cases). You review, refine, and own every output.
• Assist in defining project scope, identifying dependencies, assumptions, risks, and edge cases.
• Coordinate with developers, designers, QA, and project managers to ensure requirements are clearly understood and implemented.
• Research and evaluate third-party tools, integrations, APIs, and platform features for project requirements.
• Assist with solution validation, QA, and UAT to ensure delivered features align with business requirements.
• Create wireframes, mockups, workflows, and process diagrams when required.
• Continuously improve how the team works by building and sharing effective prompts, templates, and
• AI-assisted workflows that cut repetitive effort and improve consistency.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Business, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in Business Analysis, Project Coordination, Software Development, or a related role.
• Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong requirement-gathering, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into clear functional requirements and actionable development tasks.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with project management and documentation tools such as Jira, ClickUp, Confluence, or similar
• platforms.
• Understanding of APIs.
• Hands-on working experience with AI assistants (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot) for daily work such as
• drafting, summarizing, analysis, and research, including writing clear prompts and critically verifying AI output
• for accuracy before use.

Good to Have (Plus)

• Familiarity with Figma or Draw.io for wireframes, workflows, and process documentation.
• Familiarity with eCommerce platforms such as Shopify (including Plus), WooCommerce, or BigCommerce.
• Experience building reusable AI workflows, such as custom GPTs, Claude Projects, prompt libraries, or
• structured review frameworks for BA and presales tasks.
• Exposure to AI-assisted prototyping, no-code/low-code automation (e.g., Zapier, Make, n8n), or AI features in Jira/Confluence/Figma.
