Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced senior data engineer to deliver scalable Pentaho solutions for critical insurance processes. Success combines deep ETL engineering, insurance-domain expertise, and pragmatic team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret source-to-target mappings and translate them into robust technical solutions.
- Develop complex ETL workflows and database scripts for data migration frameworks.
- Deploy and manage solutions using Docker and Jenkins pipelines.
- Optimize ETL processes for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Investigate and resolve issues across Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, and ContactManager.
- Identify code defects and recommend effective enhancements or fixes.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and delivery outcomes.
- Troubleshoot production issues while safeguarding data quality, integrity, and operational continuity.
- Provide technical direction, support agile delivery, and mentor the development team.
Required Technical Expertise:
- Designing complex transformations, reusable ETL frameworks, and pattern-based jobs.
- Performance optimization using partitioning, clustering, and caching.
- Pentaho repository administration and deployment strategies.
- Integration with REST and SOAP APIs, including JSON and XML processing.
- Experience with Carte Server and CI/CD integration for Pentaho.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in data warehousing, ETL, and data integration.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Pentaho Data Integration, including Spoon, Kitchen, and Pan.
- Advanced Oracle and PostgreSQL skills, including database and query performance tuning.
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux, shell scripting, and JavaScript.
- Experience with Docker-based deployments and environment management.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub for version control and Jira for delivery tracking.
- Strong understanding of ETL frameworks, data modeling, transformation logic, and scalable data architecture.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, decision-making, leadership, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of 8-10 developers
