Staff Software Engineer, Fullstack - Finance Engineering Platform (L6)

As a Staff Software Engineer on the Finance Engineering Platform team within the Platform group, you'll own the frontend technical direction for the systems that transform trading, payment, and transfer activity into accurate financial records. This team builds the internal control plane where Finance and Accounting teams monitor financial health, investigate reconciliation breaks, and take governed action. You'll turn ambiguous operational problems into cohesive, scalable user experiences and establish the patterns that enable Finance to operate with greater speed, accuracy, and confidence.

What you'll do:

• Own the frontend technical strategy and architecture for financial reconciliation and operations products, including React and TypeScript applications for high-volume financial data, tables, filtering, visualizations, and transaction-level investigation.
• Lead the design of auditable human-in-the-loop workflows covering validation, approval states, error handling, permissions, and review history.
• Define end-to-end contracts with backend and API teams so that new data capabilities become reliable, understandable product features.
• Establish best practices for frontend quality across testing, accessibility, performance, observability, feature management, and safe rollout.
• Drive the most ambiguous and high-impact initiatives, creating technical clarity and alignment across engineering, product, design, and Finance stakeholders.
• Partner directly with Finance and Accounting users to translate operational pain points into a clear product and technical roadmap, while mentoring engineers and raising the team's technical bar.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience building and shipping production web applications with React and TypeScript, with fullstack capability across frontend and backend services.
• Demonstrated track record leading ambiguous, cross-functional projects from problem definition through design, implementation, rollout, and iteration.
• Deep frontend architecture expertise including state management, API integration, performance optimization, accessibility, testing, and observability.
• Experience building data-rich operational products, enterprise software, or workflow systems where accuracy and user trust are essential (financial systems, reconciliation, or payments domain experience preferred).
• History of influencing technical direction across organizational boundaries and creating durable alignment among stakeholders with different priorities through written technical designs and product discussions.
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Pay Transparency Notice: Base salary varies by location (see range below). Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)). 

Annual base salary range (excluding equity and bonus):

$218,025—$256,500 USD
