Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET 2)

Function: Freewheel

Freewheel, a Comcast company, is seeking an SDET 2 to build and enhance automated testing solutions. The role focuses on developing scalable test automation, validating distributed systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Location: Chennai

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for UI, API, and backend services.

Create and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test suites.

Collaborate with developers and product teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing.

Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and work with engineering teams to resolve defects.

Contribute to test data management, quality metrics, and automation best practices.

Participate in code reviews and continuously improve test coverage and framework reliability.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

2-5 years of experience in software testing or test automation.

Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript .

Experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks .

Understanding REST APIs, microservices, SQL, and CI/CD practices.

Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with messaging services or event-driven systems.

Exposure cloud platforms and containerized applications.

Knowledge of performance or API testing tools.

Experience in AdTech or media platforms is a plus.
