The opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Private Wealth Distribution, the Investment Director is a senior client-facing specialist responsible for leading sophisticated investment conversations with HNW and UHNW clients.

Working in close partnership with Private Bankers and specialist teams, you will provide expert market insights, deliver compelling investment ideas and help clients navigate an increasingly complex investment landscape. You will play a key role in deepening client relationships, enhancing investment engagement and driving growth across Commonwealth Private's investment proposition.

This role offers the opportunity to influence investment outcomes across a broad range of asset classes, while partnering with some of Australia's most successful individuals, families and business owners.

What you'll be doing

As a trusted investment expert, you will:

• Lead meaningful investment discussions with clients, providing insights on market trends, investment themes and opportunities.

• Present and position Commonwealth Private's investment proposition, including our research capabilities, investment philosophy and due diligence process.

• Deliver access to opportunities across a broad range of asset classes and diversified portfolios, including equities, fixed income, real assets and alternatives.

• Partner with Private Bankers to deepen client engagement and support holistic wealth conversations.

• Deliver investment updates, client presentations, market briefings and roundtable events for existing and prospective investors.

• Educate, coach and uplift Private Banker capability across investment markets, products and opportunities.

• Develop new business opportunities through existing Commonwealth Bank relationships and external professional networks.

• Build strong stakeholder relationships across the Group to enhance collaboration and client outcomes.

• Contribute to business growth objectives while maintaining a strong focus on client satisfaction and long-term relationship development.

About you

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• A degree in Commerce, Economics, Finance, Business or a related discipline.

• Extensive experience within financial markets, investment management or investment distribution.

• Deep knowledge across multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income, real estate, private equity, credit and alternative investments.

• Experience engaging with HNW and UHNW clients and delivering sophisticated investment solutions.

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders and clients.

• Strong commercial acumen and a proven track record of business development and relationship management.

• A collaborative approach and the ability to build trusted partnerships across a broad stakeholder network.

• A strong understanding of regulatory, compliance and risk frameworks within financial services.
