The Consumer Lending Crew has end-to-end responsibility for Commonwealth Bank's personal lending products and experiences. The Everyday Lending squad focuses on delivering borrowing solutions that help customers manage everyday financial needs simply, transparently and responsibly, while balancing customer value, commercial performance and responsible lending principles.

What you'll do

  • Define and evolve the strategy, roadmap and priorities for Everyday Lending products.
  • Lead the ongoing management and stewardship of Unsecured Personal Loans and CommBank AdvancePay.
  • Use customer, lending, market and performance insights to identify opportunities that improve customer outcomes.
  • Balance customer needs, commercial outcomes, risk appetite, regulatory requirements and delivery priorities when making product decisions.
  • Drive shared priorities across Consumer Lending by building strong partnerships and influencing outcomes across squads and functions.
  • Lead cross-functional squads and foster a culture of accountability, customer obsession, experimentation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure products operate safely, sustainably and in line with risk appetite and regulatory obligations.
  • Champion product governance, controls and strong risk management practices across the product lifecycle.

Bring deep product leadership experience within lending, consumer credit or personal lending and are passionate about creating customer experiences that deliver value while maintaining strong risk and governance outcomes. You enjoy solving complex customer and business problems, influencing across diverse stakeholder groups and leading high-performing teams through change.

Skills and experience

  • Demonstrated product management or product leadership experience in lending, personal lending or consumer credit.
  • Strong understanding of lending products, customer needs, credit risk and the regulatory environment.
  • Experience developing product strategies, roadmaps and measurable product outcomes.
  • Proven ability to use customer, product and performance insights to shape product direction and investment decisions.
  • Strong risk mindset with experience managing governance, controls, incidents, regulatory obligations or product stewardship activities.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing product practitioners and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong commercial judgement with the ability to balance long-term strategy and day-to-day product performance.
