Refrigeration Technician

Job Description:

• Maintain, fault-find, repair, and service industrial ammonia refrigeration systems
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control faults across ammonia refrigeration plants
• Carry out compressor maintenance, repairs, overhauls, and performance checks
• Install and commission industrial ammonia refrigeration equipment and systems
• Attend to breakdowns and provide technical support to minimise plant downtime
• Ensure all work complies with relevant safety regulations and ammonia refrigeration standards
• Work closely with customers, service teams, and other technical personnel
• Travel to customer sites and work flexible hours when required

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in industrial refrigeration
• Strong hands-on experience specifically with industrial ammonia refrigeration systems
• Proven experience working on ammonia refrigeration plants and associated compressors
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration fault-finding ability
• Experience with compressor maintenance, repairs, and overhauls
• Experience with ammonia system installation and commissioning
• Good understanding of ammonia refrigeration safety and plant operation
• Customer-facing field service experience will be advantageous

• Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Trade Test / Red Seal
• Valid SAQCC Gas Category B8 - Ammonia Refrigeration
• Valid Code B driver’s licence
