Accountant

Compliant Work is recruiting on behalf of aclient, an accounting company based in Pylaia, Thessaloniki, offering accounting and business advisory services to companies.

As part of the client's ongoing expansion, they are looking to welcome an experienced Accountant to their team, someone with strong knowledge of the full accounting cycle.

Location: Pylaia, Thessaloniki, close to the ring road with convenient nearby parking

Employment Type: Full-time, 9:00 to 17:00 (no overtime); break included within working hours and does not extend the schedule

Work Model: Initially onsite, with flexibility for 1 to 2 remote working days once settled into the role

Contract: Permanent position, with the prospect of taking on a role of greater responsibility after a period of time

Reports to: Office Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle (bookkeeping entries, checks, reconciliations, liabilities, financial statements, tax filings)
• Maintain and monitor single-entry and double-entry accounting books
• Prepare and submit periodic tax returns and statutory obligations
• Review and reconcile myDATA records
• Perform reconciliations of banks, suppliers, and customers
• Participate in year-end closing and prepare files for tax filings
• Communicate with clients to resolve accounting matters
• Document and record internal procedures

Qualifications

• Degree in Economics or Accounting (University/Technical College)
• At least 3 years of relevant experience, ideally within an accounting firm handling a client portfolio
• Knowledge of / experience in payroll is a plus
• Familiarity with Epsilon software
• Excellent knowledge of Greek (native or professional proficiency) and English at C2 level

Essential Skills

• Familiarity with AI tools
• Confidence in using information technology tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate professionally and clearly with business clients, both via email and by phone
• Strong command of Excel / Google Sheets, beyond basic data entry, comfortable with filters, formulas, data organization, and basic analysis
• High digital fluency (Google Workspace, task management applications, cloud-based files) and general ease in learning new tools
• A genuine willingness and mindset to keep learning
