Financial Controller

Job Description:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four
• Oversee the procure-to-pay function, including transaction processing, coding, and reconciliation
• Oversee month-end and year-end close activities
• Support preparation and management of monthly accruals
• Review and manage monthly payroll across multiple entities and countries
• Maintain general ledger integrity through oversight of journals, reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews
• Review and approve weekly payment runs with appropriate controls and segregation of duties
• Manage GST/VAT, FBT, and PAYG/PAYE tax compliance obligations
• Support consolidated financial statements and group reporting under IFRS across multiple entities and jurisdictions
• Support external audits and regulatory compliance activities
• Support the Global Financial Controller with ad hoc projects and analysis

Requirements:

• 4-6 years of Big 4 experience in Audit and Assurance
• Degree in Accounting or a related discipline
• CA or CPA qualification
• Experience operating across multiple entities and jurisdictions is highly regarded
• Experience using cloud-based accounting software, specifically Xero
• Prior experience supporting accounting, finance operations, or shared services teams
• Experience with Australian, New Zealand, and UK indirect tax and compliance requirements
• Experience implementing or operating NetSuite is an advantage
• Exposure to high-growth environments is an advantage
• Prior experience in a scaling SaaS or marketplace business is an advantage
• Strong day-to-day spoken and written English
• Availability to work full-time hours aligned with Australian business hours, 9:00am-5:00pm AEST
• Reliable internet connection
• Own PC with a Windows-based computer required
