Concern Worldwide is a non-governmental, international, humanitarian organisation dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries
Founded in 1968, Concern works in 25 countries in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean with its headquarters in Ireland. Concern started working in Malawi in 2002 and currently focuses on climate and environment, social protection, gender and social inclusion, sustainable food systems for food security and partnerships. For sustainability and lasting change, our advocacy and influence, people centred and evidence-based approaches focus on system strengthening and resilience building as we seek to address the root causes of poverty.
Concern invites applications from interested candidates qualified for the following positions;
Finance Intern – (1 Vacancy)Duration: Six (6) Months
Duty Station: Lilongwe
Specific Intern Outputs• The intern will support the finance Support officers in filing all payment vouchers, arranging them before filing in the box files and will ensure that these are correctly stored/archived and that all relevant information exists in those files.
• Ensure scanned documents are clear, accurate, and properly organized.
• Updating the finance documents, labelling and assigning numbers in a chronological order for each box file He/She will offer support to the Finance Support Officers in updating the bank and Cash books
• Update and maintain the organization’s digital filing system.
• Step in the Finance support officer’s role and facilitating participants payment
• Working on accounts reconciliation on weekly and monthly basis
• Supporting the finance staffs in retrieving documents for audit and any other donor/ regulatory compliance review
• Any other additional tasks from supervisor
• Degree in business Administration/ Accounting or related field
• Those studying towards chartered accounting qualification will have an added advantage
• No Experience required
• Candidate should have good knowledge of Microsoft office packages with a bias in MS excel
• Candidate should have good organisational skills. Ability to put both softcopy and hard copy records in proper order with adequate reference.
