Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer

We are looking for a highly skilled Salesforce Marketing Cloud Expert who loves to stay on the technical side of the curve and looks to groom themselves as a Salesforce Architect going forward.

Responsibilities:

• Developing solutions on the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement platform, including Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Contact Builder.
• Writing AMPscript, SSJS (Server-Side JavaScript), and SQL for dynamic content, personalisation, and data transformation within Marketing Cloud.
• Developing JavaScript frontend components and integrations using REST/SOAP JSON/XML for Marketing Cloud and connected systems.
• Building and maintaining Data Extensions, Data Views, and relational data models to support segmentation, audience building, and journey orchestration.
• Design, code, configure, document, deliver and support solutions to meet business needs in Marketing Cloud Engagement, including configurations, customisations, and integrations.
• Work with Application Architects and Tech Leads to design integrations between Marketing Cloud and Salesforce CRM (via Marketing Cloud Connect) and other systems across the enterprise.
• Code, configure, unit test and create supporting documentation for application development tasks.
• Demonstrated experience building integrations with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (REST/SOAP - XML/JSON) including API-based sends, event triggers, and third-party platform connections.
• Working with CI/CD pipelines for Marketing Cloud deployment (e. g., Accenture SFMC DevTools/mcdev, or equivalent packaging tools).
• Building and managing Account Engagement (Pardot) assets including forms, landing pages, email templates, and engagement studio programs.
• Setting up lead scoring, grading, and lifecycle automation rules to support marketing-to-sales handoff.
• Architect Mindset: The candidate should be able to understand requirements and identify gaps, clarify those gaps, and evaluate all possible solutions to provide the best recommendation. They should go beyond the immediate requirements to understand the business and deliver scalable, mature designs.
• Leadership Skills: Manage their own workload and effectively delegate tasks to available resources.
• The candidate must be proactive, provide timely updates, and consistently deliver work on schedule.

Requirements:

• Strong Salesforce basics, i. e. Configuration/Clicks concepts, Sales and Service Cloud.
• Strong Marketing Cloud Engagement basics, i. e. Email Studio, Content Builder, Automation Studio, Journey Builder configuration and setup.
• AMPscript, SSJS (Server-Side JavaScript), and GTL (Guide Template Language) for dynamic content and personalisation.
• Excellent programming skills with a good understanding of scripting logic, conditional flows, and data-driven content rendering.
• Knowledge of Data Extensions, Data Views, and relational data modelling (Tables, Joins, Relationships, SQL, Normalisation).
• Knowledge of core HTML, CSS and JavaScript concepts for email templates, landing pages, and CloudPages.
• Experience with Marketing Cloud Connect, REST/SOAP API integration, and Postmonger (for custom Journey Builder activities) (nice to have).
• Account Engagement (Pardot) configuration, including Business Units, folders, and user permissions.
• Lead/Contact sync mechanics between Account Engagement and Salesforce CRM, including sync errors and field mapping.

• Salesforce Experience Cloud, for community-facing journeys or preference centres.
• Taking apps to AppExchange (packaging, Security Review).
• CloudPages front-end development (HTML/CSS/JS, jQuery, Bootstrap).
• Postmonger and custom Journey Builder activities.
• OAuth 2.0, REST/SOAP authentication, SSO patterns.
• SQL and relational data modelling (joins, normalisation).
• AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure (for data imports, hosting, or Personalisation feeds).
