Senior Manager – Software Engineering

Job Duties:

Manage and oversee complex software development initiatives, coordinating multiple development efforts supporting web services, software deployment, and partner framework integrations. Establish project objectives, technical policies, procedures, roadmaps, and work plans, and delegate tasks to project team members. Lead Agile sprint teams in planning, prioritizing, and delivering software features in alignment with project requirements and organizational goals. Oversee system and software architecture development, system requirements, and technical design activities. Direct modernization efforts for transaction monitoring and sanction screening systems by designing and implementing models and standardized procedures for high-volume payment, AML, and foreign exchange operations. Evaluate, adapt, and define methods and procedures for new project assignments, ensuring effective execution across teams. Contribute to full-cycle web application and middleware development, including requirement analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Oversee database data retrieval strategies and develop data migration plans to support system upgrades and integrations. Position allows 100% remote work from anywhere in the U.S. and reports to Convera’s HQ.

Job Requirements:

This position requires a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Applications or related field plus 8 years of experience in any related occupation. The employer will accept a Master’s Degree plus 6 years of experience in any related occupation in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree plus 8 years. In addition, must have some experience in each of the following skills: Project planning tools such as Smart Sheet; Database design using SQL and NoSQL; SQL Server and Oracle databases; C#, .Net core; ETL tools such as SSIS, Informatica, or Talend; Analytics tools such as Business Object, QlikView, and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS); Test-driven development and CI/CD software engineering practices; Waterfall, SCRUM, and Agile-based methodologies, practices and tools; Software development life-cycle tools such as Jira and Confluence; Code version control systems such as GIT or SVN. Travel Requirement: N/A

Pay Transparency Statement

For this position, the expected base salary range is [$170,000-$180,000]  per year, depending on factors such as experience, qualifications, and geographic location. We use a tiered geographic pay system to ensure fairness across regions. Candidates in high-cost areas may receive higher offers within the posted range.
