The Job

The Events Manager leads the planning, budgeting, execution, and continuous improvement of Core Scientific’s events. This role owns the company's event program function, maintaining an accurate and visible event calendar, determining the right level of support for each event, and coordinating all elements in a collaborative manner. The role also serves as planning lead on designated events, coordinating the timeline, contributors, and delivery, including sponsorship activations. This role is a servant leader and works with and through others to meet deadlines and deliver outstanding events. Strong communication, attention to detail, sound judgment, adaptability, and enthusiasm for travel are essential.

This role is a fulltime, hands-on collaborative position that owns and does not outsource the core elements of the role. Owns and develops relationships with hotels, restaurants, and venues. Using common sense creativity to make our events memorable and impactful for our guests. Our internal customers will view this role as a difference maker to our brand presence at events.

Responsibilities

  • Own the company event portfolio (sports, community, sales, executive, investor and tradeshow) and shared calendar, giving leadership clear visibility into upcoming events, owners, purpose and status. A major conference is scheduled for mid-January 2027 in Hawaii. This role owns all aspects of that event. This is obviously a “hit the ground running” position.
  • Work with stakeholders to determine the appropriate level of support and planning lead for each event
  • Provide planning guidance and expertise to business sponsors, Executive Assistants, and colleagues proposing or planning events
  • Develop and maintain event templates, checklists, timelines, approval paths, and post-event workflows that EAs and other colleagues can use for routine events
  • Serve as planning lead for designated events, including conferences, ribbon cuttings, major client events, relationship dinners, and VIP visits, coordinating the timeline, contributors, and delivery
  • Lead planning and delivery of sponsorship activations, including but not limited to race hospitality, partner activations, show car appearances, and sponsor themed side events, in partnership with the Sports Marketing Manager
  • Manage venues, vendors, contracts, catering, production, invitations, transportation, accommodations, guest communications, and on-site logistics
  • Travel to major events and provide hands-on leadership before, during, and after execution - group hotel, transportation and restaurant bookings
  • Work with business sponsors, who propose or support each event, to define its objective, audience, and desired outcome, and confirm that business approval and funding are secured before commitments are made on behalf of Core Scientific
  • Partner with relationship owners on priority guest lists, personal outreach, hosting, and follow-up
  • Coordinate with Executive Assistants on calendars, travel, reservations, and guest logistics, respecting their managers’ priorities and availability
  • Work with the Sports Marketing Manager, who leads sponsorship relationships, rights, and approvals, to align activations with available sponsorship rights and team requirements
  • Drive accountability across departments and leadership by securing the decisions, approvals, and deliverables needed to keep work on schedule
  • Manage external vendor relationships and contracts while maintaining expectations for quality, timelines, and event standards
  • Measure attendance, engagement, spending, and applicable business outcomes
  • Prepare concise post-event reports with lessons learned and recommendations to strengthen future events
  • Refine event processes based on lessons learned, stakeholder feedback, and changing business needs
  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • This is not a learn as you go position. The right candidate has a proven track record of delivering high-quality events with excellent relationship skills both internal and external that create a feeling of confidence and competence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, hospitality, or a related field, or equivalent experience a plus. Must be sophisticated and pragmatic at the same time.
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate event, conference, or experiential marketing management with end-to-end ownership; VIP and client hospitality experience
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple complex events, deadlines, vendors, budgets, and stakeholder groups. Juggles all balls and none drop.
  • Experience planning and delivering sponsorship activations, hospitality programs, or sports and motorsports events
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders or executives on client-facing and executive-level events
  • Experience creating and improving event processes, templates, and repeatable workflows
  • Strong budgeting and vendor-management experience, including contracts, expense tracking, and cost reconciliation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, leadership-ready materials
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and other planning tools.
