Staff Software Engineer

Corgi is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to build systems that power its insurance companies and internal operations. The role designs and ships software across underwriting, claims, finance, compliance, and internal tooling, working with product, operations, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain internal and customer-facing software systems
• Design backend services, APIs, and infrastructure
• Work across the stack to ship new features and products quickly
• Partner with non-technical teams to automate manual workflows
• Improve reliability, performance, and scalability of existing systems
• Contribute to technical architecture and engineering standards
• Help shape engineering culture as we grow the team

Skills

• Strong software engineering fundamentals
• Comfortable working in ambiguity and moving quickly
• High ownership and bias toward execution
• Curious, technical, and motivated by difficult problems
• Excited to work closely with operators and domain experts
• Interested in building systems that directly affect how businesses run
• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• Experienced in Typescript, Python, React, Fast API, Django, Flask, AWS
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and APIs
• Experimented with personal projects of your own
• Experience in fintech, insurance, or workflow automation is helpful but not required
