WHAT WE OFFER
This internship provides a motivated student with hands-on experience across two core HR functions: People Development/Learning and HR Business Partnering. The intern will contribute to active projects and operational priorities while also supporting the HR team with day-to-day activities. The role is designed to expose the intern to the breadth of HR’s work at Covestro and may include additional projects as business needs arise.
This role sits within the North American HR team and contributes equally to the People Development & Learning function and the HR Business Partner function. The intern reports to an HR manager and collaborates with HR Partners, Learning Partners, and program owners across multiple US locations.
Responsibilities:
- Support a focused set of projects over the course of the internship. The specific assignments will be determined based on business priorities at the time of joining and may draw from any of the following areas:
- Maintaining and updating the HR learning content review SharePoint site, including content owners, subject matter experts, and review schedules
- Developing/updating training courses using EasyGenerator or other available tools
- Supporting the GoMentor mentoring program through participant communications, marketing materials, or system-based matching activities
- Assisting the HRBP team with the critical position identification and automation process
- Partner with the HRBP team to identify/implement process improvement opportunities utilizing AI across our HR portfolio of products and services
- Contributing to other HR projects and priorities as business needs evolve across People Development and HR Business Partner functions
- The intern should expect to contribute meaningfully to one or two of these areas rather than all of them, with scope and focus shaped by the team's needs at the start of the summer.
Value Added:
- Contributes directly to active, high-priority HR initiatives
- Delivers tangible outputs in learning content governance, course development, critical position identification, and mentoring program operations
- Bridges two HR functions (PD and HRBP), gaining cross-functional perspective uncommon in a single internship experience
