QA Automation Architect

Cpl Recruitment are partnering with a leading global financial services organisation to recruit a QA Automation Architect for its Dublin technology team. This is a senior technical role focused on the design, development and continuous improvement of enterprise automation frameworks supporting complex financial applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and ongoing development of enterprise test automation frameworks.
• Take technical ownership of automation solutions built primarily around Java, Playwright and API testing technologies.
• Establish strong engineering practices around automation, code quality and reusable framework components.
• Provide technical guidance, code reviews and support to engineers working across automation initiatives.
• Work with application, development and QA teams to identify opportunities for effective automation.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery processes.
• Help define automation standards, best practices and development approaches across the wider technology environment.
• Act as a senior technical point of contact between QA, engineering, project and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong experience in QA engineering, software testing and test automation.
• Advanced Java development skills with experience building or extending automation frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with technologies such as Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber and RestAssured.
• Strong understanding of API, UI and automated application testing.
• Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD environments.
• Good knowledge of Git-based version control and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience with SQL and database validation.
• Previous experience within banking, financial services or another highly regulated environment is strongly preferred.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and technical leadership skills.

Location & Eligibility

Dublin-based hybrid role. Candidates must live within a commutable distance of Dublin and hold a minimum of Stamp 1G Spousal/Partner permission or Stamp 4 due to UK travel requirements.
