Purpose
Own preparation of core reporting packs and deliver actionable business insight, using applied AI knowledge to accelerate data cleansing, structuring and analysis. This role goes beyond using AI tools day-to-day - it requires a genuine understanding of how AI workflows and agents work, so the analyst can design, adapt and troubleshoot them rather than relying on off-the-shelf use. Provides senior-level cover during a period of team transition and supports the shift towards a more senior, AI-enabled, insight-led FP&A function.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end preparation of recurring reporting packs - data pull, cleansing, structuring and first-pass commentary
- Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders, not just clean data
- Design, build and maintain AI tooling and agent-based workflows that automate data preparation and surface patterns at scale
- Evaluate and prompt-engineer AI models/agents for specific finance use cases, iterating on accuracy and reliability rather than accepting a first output
- Act as the team's internal point of expertise on applying AI to FP&A data - advising colleagues on what AI can and can't be trusted to do
- Resolve data inconsistencies at source and improve the underlying data model so AI workflows have clean, structured inputs to work from
- Act as a senior point of contact for reporting quality across the functions supported
- Stay current on relevant AI tooling and techniques, proactively identifying where new capability could remove manual effort
- Document processes, prompts and insight logic so AI-driven outputs are consistent, explainable and defensible beyond the contract term
- Ad-hoc AI initiative support of the wider Finance Team.
What You Will Bring
- 5+ years' experience in FP&A, business analytics, or reporting-focused finance roles
- Proven ownership of reporting pack delivery - not just contributing to one
- Strong, demonstrable knowledge of AI/LLM tooling - able to explain how models and agent workflows actually work, not just operate a UI
- Hands-on experience building or configuring AI-driven workflows (e.g. prompt design, agent/automation platforms, API-based tooling) rather than only using consumer chat interfaces
- Strong Excel;
- Confident interpreting data and presenting insight to stakeholders directly
- Able to operate with senior-level autonomy, minimal oversight
Nice to have:
- comfortable with light scripting (Python or similar) to support AI/data workflows
