Full Stack Developer (Next.js)

Criico is looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to design, build, and scale our web applications using Next.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript tooling. You will work across the stack — from database and API design to polished, performant front-end experiences — and play a key role in technical decisions as the product grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Next.js (App Router), React, and TypeScript
• Build and integrate RESTful/GraphQL APIs, and design efficient database schemas (PostgreSQL/MySQL/MongoDB)
• Own features end-to-end: architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring
• Optimize application performance (SSR/SSG/ISR, caching, Core Web Vitals)
• Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews
• Mentor junior/mid-level developers and help set engineering best practices
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and contribute to DevOps/infrastructure decisions (Docker, Vercel/AWS)
• Ensure application security, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility
• Participate in sprint planning, technical discussions, and architecture decisions

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 2+ years of professional full-stack development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Next.js (2+ years) and React
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript (ES6+)
• Solid backend experience: Node.js, and one of Express/Fastify/NestJS
• Strong database skills — SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB)
• Experience with REST and/or GraphQL API design
• Familiarity with state management (Redux, Zustand, React Query/TanStack Query)
• Version control with Git, and experience with CI/CD workflows
• Understanding of authentication/authorization (JWT, OAuth, NextAuth)
• Experience deploying to cloud platforms (Nginx, AWS, or similar)
• Strong grasp of responsive design, Tailwind CSS or similar styling frameworks
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Preferred 

• Experience with microservices architecture
• Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes
• Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, Playwright)
• Exposure to payment gateways, fintech, or e-commerce systems
• Experience with monorepos (Turborepo/Nx)
• Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced product environment
• Knowledge of performance monitoring tools (Sentry, DataDog, New Relic)
