Senior Java Engineer

At Cyclad, we work with top international IT companies to help them deliver cutting-edge technologies that shape the future. We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Java Engineer to join an international team working on distributed Java applications and modern cloud-based solutions.

In this role, you will develop, support, and modernize Java applications while working with Java 17, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, REST APIs, and microservices. You will also contribute to service management, observability, CI/CD automation, and the modernization of legacy applications using modern AI-assisted development tools. You will collaborate closely with Product Owners, IT specialists, architects, and IT management in an international environment.

Your responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and support distributed systems written in Java
• Design and develop microservices using Java 17 and Spring Boot
• Modernize and evolve legacy Java applications using modern development and AI-assisted tools
• Work with Github Copilot, Claude Code, and similar development tools
• Participate in Incident Management, Problem Management, and Service Delivery activities
• Design robust technical solutions and processes using modern Agile methods
• Analyse technical and non-technical requirements and provide service-oriented advice to stakeholders
• Develop observability tools and techniques for monitoring, alerting, incident detection, and response
• Support capacity management and release safety
• Collaborate with Product Owners, IT specialists, architects, and IT management
• Contribute to application lifecycle management and CI/CD automation
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across development and production environments

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience developing and supporting distributed systems using Java
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17 and Spring Boot
• Experience designing and developing microservices
• Good knowledge of modern Java technologies, frameworks, and DevOps tools
• Experience with REST APIs and distributed application architectures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to clearly communicate technical issues and solutions across different teams and disciplines
• Experience working in international and cross-functional environments
• Ability to work independently with a structured and results-oriented approach
• Experience with application lifecycle management tools such as JIRA and Confluence
• Experience with CI/CD automation and DevOps practices
• Good knowledge of Ansible and vulnerability remediation processes

Nice to have:

• Experience modernizing legacy Java applications
• Experience with AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and alerting solutions
• Experience with incident and problem management processes
• Knowledge of capacity management and release safety practices
