Data Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to resolve source data and transformation issues in BI migration environments. This role focuses on analyzing Tableau data sources, building and modifying SQL and ETL/ELT processes, validating source-to-target data, resolving data quality issues, and optimizing refresh and query patterns to ensure reliable, efficient data processing.

Must-Have Skills:

- 5 - 10 years of experience in Data Engineering or related roles.

- Strong hands-on experience with SQL for data analysis, transformation, validation, and troubleshooting.

- Strong experience with ETL/ELT processes and data transformation.

- Experience working with Snowflake.

- Experience working with Databricks.

- Experience with cloud data platforms.

- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts.

- Experience analyzing and troubleshooting data sources used by BI platforms such as Tableau.

- Experience performing source-to-target data validation and reconciliation.

- Strong understanding of data quality and data transformation processes.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good-to-Have Skills:

- Experience supporting BI migration or modernization projects.

- Experience analyzing Tableau data sources and resolving source-data issues.

- Experience optimizing data refresh and query patterns.

- Experience working across multiple cloud data platforms.

- Experience with large-scale data processing and transformation.

- Experience troubleshooting data issues impacting BI reports and dashboards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Analyze Tableau data sources to identify source-data, transformation, and connectivity issues.

- Build and modify SQL queries to support data analysis, transformation, validation, and troubleshooting.

- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot ETL/ELT processes to support reliable data movement and transformation.

- Validate source-to-target data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

- Identify and resolve data quality issues affecting downstream BI reports and dashboards.

- Investigate data discrepancies and perform root cause analysis to determine the source of issues.

- Work with Snowflake, Databricks, and cloud data platforms to support data engineering requirements.

- Design and maintain appropriate data models to support reporting and analytics needs.

- Optimize data refresh and query patterns to improve performance and reliability.

- Collaborate with BI developers, QA teams, migration teams, and other stakeholders to resolve data related issues.

- Support troubleshooting of source-data and transformation issues during BI migration and validation activities.

- Ensure data processes and transformations are accurate, efficient, and aligned with defined requirements.

Qualification:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

- Relevant certifications in cloud, data engineering, Snowflake, or Databricks are preferred.
