Product Manager

Databahn is looking for a Product Manager - Product Operations to drive operational rigor, pricing strategy, margin optimization, and roadmap governance across our Security Data Fabric platform.

The core responsibilities for the job include the following:

Intake and Roadmap Governance:

• Own the centralized intake process for: Customer feature requests, Sales-driven enhancements, and Strategic initiatives.
• Define clear evaluation criteria across: Revenue impact, Margin implications, Cost-to-serve impact, and Strategic alignment.
• Establish roadmap governance frameworks and prioritization cadences.
• Ensure trade-off transparency across Engineering, Finance, and Sales.
• Maintain visibility into committed vs. exploratory work.

Proof Of Value/Concept Production Tracking:

• Define and operationalize a structured POC lifecycle: Qualification criteria, Success metrics. Engineering investment thresholds, Exit criteria.
• Track all POCs from inception through: Technical validation, Commercial validation.
• Production deployment Measures: Conversion rate from POC to production, Engineering effort vs. revenue realized, Margin impact of custom implementations.
• Prevent one-off solutions from becoming margin liabilities.

Cost-to-Serve Visibility:

• Build frameworks to quantify cost-to-serve across: Data ingestion, Storage, Compute, Routing and enrichment, Customer-specific configurations.
• Develop dashboards to track: Cost per GB ingested, Cost per routing workload, Cost per customer segment.
• Partner with Finance to: Align pricing with infrastructure realities, Track gross margin by feature and customer, Improve forecasting accuracy.

Own Databahn's pricing and packaging strategy:

• Design scalable pricing models (usage-based, volume-based, tiered) aligned to: Data ingestion volume, Throughput, Transformation workloads, and Infrastructure cost drivers.
• Conduct pricing experiments and elasticity analysis.
• Partner with Sales on enterprise deal structuring.
• Support custom pricing models while protecting margin integrity.
• Conduct win/loss analysis with pricing competitiveness insights.

Margin Optimization:

• Analyze cost drivers across: Data ingestion, Storage, Compute, Routing and enrichment.
• Collaborate with Engineering to: Improve architectural efficiency, Reduce infra-spend per workload, Increase automation.
• Identify and execute initiatives that expand gross margins.
• Track and improve margin performance at the following levels: Feature level, Customer segment level, and Enterprise account level.

Core Product Management:

• Own roadmap prioritization balancing: Revenue impact, Margin expansion, Customer enhancements, and Strategic platform investments.
• Translate pricing and operational insights into clear product requirements.
• Drive structured PRD creation and release documentation.
• Use modern AI-assisted tools such as Cursor to Accelerate documentation, Analyze customer feedback, Model pricing scenarios. Summarize operational datasets.
• Ensure high execution velocity with operational discipline.

Customer and Market Engagement:

• Work closely with Sales to structure large enterprise deals.
• Monitor trends across: Security data platforms: SIEM vendors, Observability pipelines.
• Maintain awareness of AWS, GCP, and Azure cost structures.
• Partner with Customer Success on: Renewal strategy, Expansion pricing, and Margin protection in upsells.

Cross-Functional Leadership:

• Collaborate deeply with:
• Engineering - Cost efficiency, scalability, and architecture decisions.
• Finance - Margin modeling, forecasting, cost transparency.
• Sales - Deal strategy, pricing approvals, POC governance.
• Customer Success - Renewal economics and expansion efficiency.
• Serve as the internal authority on: Product monetization, Cost-to-serve economics, Operational product governance, Pricing strategy and margin health.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 6+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, infrastructure, or platform products.
• Experience in Product Operations, roadmap governance, or revenue operations alignment.
• Experience in security, SIEM, or observability platforms.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in pricing and margin analysis.
• Understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience owning cross-functional execution across Engineering, Sales, and Finance.
• Strong written communication skills and experience creating PRDs.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools (e. g., Cursor) in product workflows.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in usage-based SaaS pricing models.
• Experience in observability platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud cost modeling (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• MBA or background in finance or business strategy.
• Startup experience in high-growth, high-scale environments.
