Senior SDET

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and evolve robust test automation frameworks for backend microservices, APIs, event-driven pipelines (Kafka), and data processing flows.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD guardrails: quality gates, automated checks for coverage, flakiness detection, and regression prevention in pipelines (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/etc. ).
• Provide clear visibility into test health: coverage metrics, failure trends, test execution dashboards, and quality signals for releases.
• Develop functional tests (API, integration, end-to-end data flows) and non-functional guardrails (performance baselines, reliability under load, basic security checks for data handling).
• Collaborate with developers on testability, shift-left practices, and code reviews for testable design.
• Support release management: own test execution during release cycles, risk assessment, rollback criteria, and post-release monitoring under EM guidance.
• Mentor junior SDETs/QA engineers on framework usage, best practices, and troubleshooting.
• Continuously improve automation efficiency, reduce toil, and adapt frameworks to new features (e. g., AI enrichment, schema changes).

Requirements:

• Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5-8 years in software testing/automation, with strong hands-on development experience.
• Proficiency in building scalable test frameworks (Golang preferred for backend alignment; Python/Java acceptable with quick ramp to Go).
• Deep experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI), test orchestration, and quality metrics (coverage tools like JaCoCo/Go coverage, dashboards).
• Solid skills in automated testing: API (RestAssured/Postman/Newman), integration, event-driven (Kafka consumers), mocking/stubbing.
• Hands-on with non-functional testing basics: performance (k6/Locust/JMeter), reliability, and chaos/resilience testing.
• Strong fundamentals: programming, data structures, distributed systems concepts, and debugging complex failures.
• Experience supporting release processes in fast-paced environments.
• Good collaboration and communication; passion for quality in high-scale data platforms.
