Senior Business Developer
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to accelerate our commercial growth in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, someone who builds business the right way: through deep client understanding, sharp market intelligence, and the ability to guide complex, high-value sales processes from first contact to signed contract.
You will focus on two core service areas:
- Creative Digital Services: key visual creation, creative adaptation, and creative amplification
- Search & AI-Driven Visibility: SEO, Global Search strategies, and AI Optimization (AIO)
You will report to the Deputy General Manager of Datawords Hong Kong and the Greater China General Manager.
Target Markets & Sectors
- Greater Bay Area: Chinese companies expanding internationally
- Hong Kong companies with international ambitions and multinational brands operating in Asia
- Key sectors: Luxury, Beauty, F&B, Hospitality, and B2B
Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities with a focus on Creative Digital and Search/AIO services
- Lead the full BD cycle: prospecting, discovery, proposal writing, pitch, negotiation, and closing
- Conduct in-depth research on prospects to understand their business context, key stakeholders, and decision-making processes
- Manage complex pre-sales and RFP processes, coordinating closely with production and delivery teams
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the existing client portfolio
- Maintain rigorous CRM discipline (HubSpot) and monitor market trends and the evolving AI/Search landscape
- Represent Datawords at industry events and client meetings across the region
What We Are Looking For
Experience & Skills
- 5+ years in business development or sales within a digital agency or digital services company
- Proven track record in complex, consultative sales environments
- An existing network in Hong Kong and the GBA, ready to activate from day one
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, SEO/Search, creative workflows, and AI-driven marketing trends
- Proficient in HubSpot; excellent communication and presentation skills

Languages & Culture
- Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese (all three required)
