Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Cloud Network Engineer with 6-8 years of experience to support and operate enterprise cloud and hybrid network environments. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in AWS and GCP networking, hybrid connectivity, network security, Infrastructure as Code, automation, monitoring, and incident management. You will work closely with cloud, infrastructure, security, application, and vendor teams to ensure secure, highly available, and scalable network operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cloud Network Operations & Infrastructure Support
Support and maintain cloud networking components including VPC/VNet, subnets, routing, gateways, NAT, DNS, firewalls, load balancers, and connectivity services.
Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot cloud network infrastructure to ensure performance, availability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
Ensure cloud network designs align with enterprise operational, security, scalability, and governance requirements.
Support day-to-day network operations and resolve complex infrastructure issues across cloud environments.
2. Hybrid Connectivity & Integration
Implement and support secure connectivity between cloud platforms and on-premises data centers using VPN, AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, Google Cloud Interconnect, and SD-WAN.
Work with infrastructure, application, security, and vendor teams to enable reliable cloud-to-on-premises and cloud-to-cloud connectivity.
Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives requiring secure connectivity, routing, and network integration.
Troubleshoot connectivity and routing issues across hybrid environments.
3. Network Security & Compliance
Implement network security best practices including network segmentation, firewall policies, WAF rules, logging, monitoring, encryption, and controlled access.
Support security controls such as IDS/IPS, micro-segmentation, Zero Trust principles, and secure access models.
Ensure network changes comply with enterprise security standards, change management processes, and governance requirements.
Participate in security reviews, audit-readiness activities, vulnerability remediation, and compliance initiatives.
4. Automation & Infrastructure as Code
Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates for cloud networking components using Terraform or equivalent tools.
Automate network provisioning, configuration validation, policy enforcement, and operational processes.
Use Ansible, Python, Shell scripting, or similar technologies to improve network automation and operational efficiency.
Support CI/CD and DevOps practices for controlled deployment of network and infrastructure changes.
5. Monitoring, Incident & Problem Management
Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging for network availability, latency, throughput, connectivity, and security events.
Perform incident triage, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution for connectivity, routing, DNS, firewall, and performance-related issues.
Participate in major incident management and provide timely technical updates to stakeholders.
Contribute to problem management and continuous service improvement initiatives to reduce recurring incidents.
6. Documentation & Stakeholder/Vendor Collaboration
Create and maintain network architecture diagrams, configuration documentation, operational runbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
Collaborate with cloud service providers, network vendors, security teams, infrastructure teams, and managed service providers.
Provide technical inputs for solution reviews, change approvals, transition planning, and operational governance forums.
Communicate technical issues, risks, and recommendations effectively to both technical and business stakeholders.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
