Project Description

Core Products is one of client's strategic platforms. It develops the foundational services that power the Group's digital products worldwide and it brings together nearly 100 professionals across Paris, Romania, and Mexico.

Its product and engineering tribes are responsible for strategic domains such as authentication, digital wallets, online payments and more.

The role sits at the intersection ofCore Products and the Group Data Platform. It requires someone who can become productive quickly in an Azure and Databricks environment, take end-to-end ownership of delivery, and work effectively with data engineers and analysts, data architects, and Product and Engineering Managers across the Core Products tribes.

The role intervenes at the beginning of a data strategy and requires a profile that is comfortable starting from scratch.

Expected outcomes include:

• New, production-ready pipelines supporting priority reporting use cases.

• Existing reporting pipelines assessed, refactored, and stabilized where necessary.

• Maintenance of new and existing pipelines to ensure data assets are reliably delivered daily.

• Pipelines aligned with the architecture, governance, security, and engineering standards of the Group Data Platform.

• Clear documentation, monitoring, and operational ownership to ensure maintainability and reliable handover.

• Design, build, test, and deploy scalable data pipelines for reporting and analytics use cases.

• Review existing reporting pipelines and refactor them to improve reliability, performance, maintainability, and observability.

• Work with Data professionals, Data Architects, Product Managers, and Engineering Managers to translate reporting needs into robust technical solutions.

• Contribute hands-on to the onboarding ofCore Products data workloads onto Group Data Platform.

• Ensure compliance with platform standards for data modelling, code quality, testing, CI/CD, documentation, security, and monitoring.

• Own the SRE practices for data pipelines and products.

• Diagnose data incidents and pipeline failures, identify root causes, and implement durable corrective actions.

• Document data flows, dependencies, transformation logic, and operating procedures.

• Share knowledge and engineering practices with the Core Products data team and contribute to its long-term autonomy

Mandatory

• At least eight years of professional experience in Data Engineering, including ownership of production-grade data pipelines.

• Strong, demonstrable hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Databricks. Both are compulsory.

• Advanced SQL and Python skills.

• Strong experience designing, building, and operating data pipelines and analytical data products.

• Good command of modern data-platform and lakehouse principles, including medallion architecture and dimensional modelling for reporting.

• Experience with software-engineering and DataOps practices: version control, automated testing,CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, and incident management.

• Experience with SRE practices and continuous operational improvements.

• Strong stakeholder communication skills and the ability to collaborate across Data, Architecture, Product, and Engineering teams.

• Data modelling skills and the ability to develop a holistic view of the different data scopes and business objectives before making "build" decision.

• Ability to work autonomously, make sound technical decisions, and document them clearly.

Strong plus:

• Experience with data governance, lineage, and access-control practices in Databricks, including Unity Catalog.

• Experience with payment or transaction data and distributed international teams.
