Senior Product Engineer (QA Automation)

Work mode: hybrid from Krakow 2 days/week

We are looking for a Senior Product Engineer - QA Automation with 4-6 years of experience in software quality engineering and test automation. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Playwright, Java, UI/API automation, and test framework development, with a solid understanding of modern Agile and CI/CD practices.

The role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust automated tests across UI and API layers. You will contribute to the evolution of automation frameworks, define effective test strategies, and work closely with engineering and product teams to ensure high-quality, reliable software releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for UI and API applications using Playwright.

• Build and enhance scalable, maintainable test automation frameworks using Java.

• Define and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test scenarios across application layers.

• Develop automated tests for new features, enhancements, integrations, and regression coverage.

• Perform exploratory, functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing to identify defects and quality risks.

• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous quality practices.

• Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, automation efficiency, reliability, and execution time.

• Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and work with engineering teams to resolve issues.

• Contribute to quality metrics, observability, and continuous improvement of testing practices.

• Support testing of complex and distributed applications while ensuring appropriate coverage across system components.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience as a QA Automation Engineer / Quality Engineer.

• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright for UI and API test automation.

• Strong programming and automation framework development skills in Java.

• Strong understanding of test design principles, test strategies, and automation best practices.

• Experience designing and maintaining scalable automated test frameworks.

• Good knowledge of API testing and end-to-end application testing.

• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into delivery workflows.

• Practical experience working in Agile development environments.

• Experience with the CakePHP framework or applications built using CakePHP.

• Strong debugging, analytical, problem-solving, and defect-investigation skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, product teams, and other stakeholders.

• Strong understanding of software development and testing lifecycles.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.

• Knowledge of performance and load testing tools.

• Familiarity with observability, quality metrics, and engineering health metrics.
