The Director, Digital Technology - China will lead the strategy, architecture, and execution of digital technology initiatives supporting the China business, with a strong focus on China-for-China capabilities, local ecosystem integrations, and scalable digital platforms.
This role is responsible for building and operating a localized yet enterprise-aligned technology stack, enabling growth across eCommerce, marketplaces (e.g., Tmall, JD), retail, and B2B channels. The Director will drive modernization of core platforms including Order Management, Inventory, Integrations, and Digital Commerce, ensuring compliance with local
regulations while aligning with global enterprise standards.
The leader will partner closely with China business leadership, global technology teams, and external partners, translating market-specific needs into scalable digital solutions. This role requires deep expertise in China digital ecosystems, integration patterns, and platform orchestration, along with strong leadership in vendor governance, delivery execution, and operational excellence.

30% Technology Strategy & China Architecture
Define and execute China-specific digital technology strategy aligned with enterprise architecture. Establish China-for-China architecture across OMS, commerce, integrations, and data platforms.
25% Platform Delivery & Execution
Lead delivery of key initiatives including China OMS, marketplace integrations (Tmall, JD), retail systems, and B2B platforms. Ensure speed, scalability, and quality of execution.
15% Integration & Ecosystem Enablement
Design and govern integrations across local platforms, 3PLs, payment providers, and enterprise systems using API-first and event-driven architecture (Boomi, gateways).
15% Business Partnership & Localization
Partner with China business leaders to translate market needs into technology solutions. Enable rapid adaptation to local consumer, regulatory, and operational requirements.
15% Operations, Governance & Vendor Management
Establish strong governance, vendor accountability, and operational excellence (SLAs, incident management, change control). Build a sustainable support and delivery model in China.
Responsibilities:
Technology Strategy & Architecture
- Define China digital architecture aligned with enterprise principles while enabling local autonomy.
- Lead design of China OMS, Inventory Orchestration, and Digital Commerce platforms.
- Ensure scalability, resilience, and regulatory compliance (data residency, cybersecurity laws).
Platform Delivery & Execution
- Own end-to-end delivery of China digital programs (OMS modernization, marketplace integrations, retail enablement).
- Drive execution across internal teams and vendors with clear milestones and accountability.
- Establish command center readiness for critical launches and peak periods.
Integration & Ecosystem Enablement
- Architect integrations with China ecosystem platforms (Tmall, JD, logistics providers, payment gateways).
- Enable API-first, event-driven architecture leveraging enterprise integration platforms (e.g., Boomi).
- Ensure high performance, reliability, and observability across integrations.
Business Engagement & Localization
- Partner with China business stakeholders across eCommerce, retail, supply chain, and finance.
- Translate business KPIs (conversion, fulfillment speed, inventory availability) into technology capabilities.
- Enable rapid experimentation and localization for China market dynamics.
Operations & Governance
- Follow Enterprise governance frameworks including design authority, change management, and release controls.
- Follow global process on strong incident management, monitoring, and support models.
- Drive compliance with enterprise security, data privacy, and audit requirements.
