Azure Network Engineer (m/f/d)

Tasks

• You design, configure, and maintain Azure network infrastructures, including hub-and-spoke and hybrid models (VNets, routing, load balancers, application gateways, VPN, ExpressRoute)
• You are responsible for the design, configuration, and operation of Palo Alto firewalls in Azure, including policies, NAT rules, routing, and security zones
• As part of daily operations, you provide Level-2 support for Azure network and firewall-related incidents and service requests
• Acting as a network subject-matter expert, you support Azure projects from architectural design through implementation to go-live
• You ensure compliance with security standards and cloud networking best practices
• By contributing your expertise, you help define, document, and continuously improve Azure network standards and reference architectures
• Where applicable, you support automation and Infrastructure-as-Code approaches in the networking domain

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable education
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure networking and hybrid cloud connectivity
• Practical experience with Palo Alto firewalls, ideally within Azure environments
• Solid understanding of network fundamentals, including routing, switching, DNS, IP addressing, VPN, and security concepts
• Proven troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience in Level-2 operational support
• Azure certifications such as AZ-700 are considered a plus
• Team-oriented professional with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, trust-based environment, combined with a structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style
• Fluent in both German and English, written and spoken
