Job Description:
About Us
We're a leading global media agency shaping the future of content, advertising, and audience engagement. As part of dentsu's global Data & Technology organization, we're building the AI behind dentsu's next-generation platform - frontier AI and real production engineering applied to media, creative, strategy, audiences, and optimization. You'll get startup-level ownership and speed with dentsu-scale reach and data, working on high-visibility products.
Role Overview
As an AI Engineer, you will design, build, and deploy artificial intelligence capabilities that drive business value and enhance our global products. You will work cross-functionally with product managers, data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable AI systems for content personalization, audience analytics, creative optimization, and more.
Key Responsibilities
- AI Solution Development: Architect, develop, and maintain AI systems for media products.
- Collaboration: Partner with product, engineering, and data teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Deployment & Scaling: Implement AI systems in production environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance across global markets.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor, evaluate, and iterate on AI models using real-world data and feedback.
- Research & Innovation: Stay current with AI/ML advancements; prototype and recommend new technologies to keep our products at the forefront of innovation.
- Ethics & Compliance: Champion responsible AI practices, ensuring fairness, transparency, and compliance with data privacy regulations.
Requirements
Must Have
- Masters Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (PhD a plus).
- Strong Python skills (3+ years) with production systems, not just experimentation and prototyping
- Demonstrated experience (1+ years) with enterprise LLMs - their APIs, performance challenges, and how to mitigate those (OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere, etc.)
- Demonstrated production experience (3+ years) with API conventions and integration into pipelines, e.g. RESTful API, FastAPI, or similar.
- Demonstrated experience (2+ years) integrating multiple approaches for extracting highest-quality output from LLMs, e.g. prompt engineering, multi-agents, structured output validation, hybrid RAG, in-context learning (ICL), or NLP- or ontology-powered layering.
- Demonstrated production experience (4+ years) measuring and improving AI systems or traditional ML systems.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency with traditional NLP and document processing pipelines (text extraction, chunking, embedding)
- Strong foundation in data science fundamentals, including data analysis, statistical methods, and experience working with structured and unstructured data
- Experience in LLM orchestration libraries (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel), chain-of-thought, and structured reasoning approaches.
- Experience with tracing (e.g. Arize, OpenTelemetry, LangSmith)
- Experience with more complex AI systems at the application layer such as memory and advanced context management
- Fine tuning and automated system optimization
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with independence
Interview Process
- A recruiter screen to get to know you, walk through the role, and align on compensation, work model, and sponsorship needs.
- A technical interview and working session with a team member - a chance to show your skills on a realistic problem straight from our world, and to see how we work.
- A final conversation with team leadership - your chance to ask anything, set expectations together, and make sure this is the right fit for you.
