We are looking for a Routing & Capacity Analyst based in Diegem, Belgium, to support the optimization and continuous improvement of DHL's European road network through data-driven insights and advanced analytics. In this role, you will contribute to data analytics projects that help transform complex operational data into valuable business intelligence, supporting more effective decision-making across network operations.

Working closely with business stakeholders, project leads, and analytics experts, you will develop statistical and mathematical models, analyze operational processes, and identify opportunities to improve network performance. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career analytics professional who is passionate about applying data science, machine learning, and optimization techniques to solve real-world business challenges.

How will you contribute to the success of DHL?

• Support the execution of data analytics projects in collaboration with project leads and supervisors.
• Analyze business processes and identify problem areas, opportunities, and analytical requirements.
• Collect, prepare, cleanse, and validate data from multiple sources.
• Develop statistical, mathematical, and optimization models to support business decision-making.
• Apply machine learning, forecasting, and analytical techniques to operational and network challenges.
• Interpret model outputs and translate analytical findings into meaningful business insights.
• Develop and implement analytical prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions for business users.
• Support the adoption of data-driven decision-making across the organization.
• Contribute to the development of analytical methodologies and best practices.
• Select and apply appropriate analytical techniques to solve business problems.
• Prepare presentations and reports that communicate complex analytical results in a clear and understandable way.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders on data analytics topics.
• Engage with specialist networks and communities to stay current with industry trends and analytical methodologies.
• Support knowledge sharing and the transfer of expertise from completed projects into operational teams.

Do you have what it takes?

• University degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Up to 2 years of professional experience in data analytics, data science, statistics, research, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning, statistics, and/or mathematical optimization techniques.
• Experience analyzing complex datasets and building analytical or mathematical models.
• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python, R, or Java.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify patterns and insights from data.
• Ability to translate analytical results into practical business recommendations.
• Comfortable working with large datasets and performing data cleansing and preparation activities.
• Interest in operational research, forecasting, predictive analytics, or network optimization.
• Ability to communicate technical and analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
• Proactive, curious, and eager to learn new analytical methods and technologies.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills within international and cross-functional environments.
• Independent work ethic with a positive, solution-oriented mindset.
• Fluent English is required; additional languages are considered an advantage.
