JD for Sirius XM integration in Android.

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Android Engineer with strong expertise in SiriusXM integration within automotive infotainment systems. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, debugging, and supporting SiriusXM functionality on Android-based automotive infotainment platforms.

The role requires strong hands-on experience with Android/AOSP platform development, AIDL interfaces, permissions, SELinux, multi-user architecture, audio and media frameworks, power management, system integration, and automotive infotainment interfaces.

Hands-on experience with SiriusXM Arena, SiriusXM development/tooling, hardware tooling, and signal generators is mandatory.

The candidate will work closely with Android platform, infotainment, audio, system integration, CI/CD, and validation teams to deliver robust and production-ready SiriusXM functionality.

Key Responsibilities in the Development Lifecycle

The engineer will be expected to contribute across the complete integration lifecycle:

Requirement Analysis → Design → Android Development → SiriusXM Integration → Platform Integration → Debugging → System Validation → Issue Resolution → Release Support

The role requires close collaboration with Android platform teams, infotainment teams, audio teams, system architects, validation teams, CI/CD teams, and customer/OEM stakeholders.

Critical Hiring Criteria

SiriusXM-specific experience is mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate practical hands-on experience with:

• SiriusXM Arena
• SiriusXM Mimosa / Smite / PowerStar
• SiriusXM Smirf Board
• IZT / R&S signal generators
• SiriusXM integration in Android/AOSP-based automotive infotainment systems

Candidates without hands-on SiriusXM integration experience should not be considered for this specific requirement.

Mandatory SiriusXM Expertise

• Hands-on experience with SiriusXM integration in Android/automotive infotainment.
• Experience using SiriusXM Arena.
• Experience with SiriusXM tooling such as Mimosa, Smite and PowerStar.
• Experience with SiriusXM hardware tooling, including Smirf Board.
• Hands-on experience with SiriusXM signal generators, such as IZT and R&S.
• Ability to debug SiriusXM functionality across Android platform, audio, hardware and signal environments.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong Android/AOSP/AAOS development experience.
• Strong knowledge of AIDL/IPC, Android permissions and SE-Linux.
• Automotive infotainment and audio/media framework experience.
• Experience with Power Management and Audio Routing.
• Strong debugging and system-integration skills.
• SiriusXM experience with the above tools is mandatory.

Good to Have

• Automotive OEM/Tier-1 experience.
• Experience with CAN/CAN FD and Automotive Ethernet.
• Knowledge of Jenkins, Git/Gerrit and CI/CD.
• Experience with HIL/bench/vehicle validation.
• Exposure to Android Automotive architecture, connected-car technologies and digital cockpit platforms.

· Audio management (e.g. AudioRecord, AudioTrack)

· Phone, microphone, and speech interfaces (e.g. GDA)

· MediaBrowse and MediaSession (e.g. Global Search, Dashboard)

· RSI (e.g. secondary displays, rear-seat-entertainment)

· NHTSA/CVAA compliance

SiriusXM-Specific (Mandatory) in Android

· Access and usage of SiriusXM Arena

· SiriusXM tooling and usage (e.g. Mimosa, Smite, PowerStar)
