Currently, around 4,000 employees are working at CARIAD on the digital transformation of the car. CARIAD is working intensively on the software and technology platform for Premium Platform Electric (PPE). The first vehicles based on PPE will be the electric Porsche Macan and Audi Q6 e-tron. At the core of CARIAD is the development of the unified and scalable software and technology platform E³ 2.0 for all Group brands. E³ stands for ‘end to end electronics architecture’. The new software and technology platform is built from scratch and will be used first at the end of 2024 in Artemis, the lighthouse project of Audi. As of 2026, E³ 2.0 is due to be scaled by the Volkswagen brand with Trinity in the volume segment.
About our Group
CARIAD COE (Centre of Excellence) is setup in Bangalore, India working exclusively with CARIAD and associated VW groups with the focus on development of ‘VW.OS”. The areas of work involve development of platform components such as firmware, boot loaders, AUTOSAR, Linux/QNX BSP, Service oriented architecture-based middleware components.

Job Title: Tech Lead (EV)

Experience: 7 to 9 years
Job Description:
- Responsible for all faces of the design and development process for EV Energy control system product
- Derive and detail requirements for discipline development from customer, system requirements specification and system architecture.
- Ensure that all requirements relevant for the discipline (as assigned by system architecture) are collected, clarified, and documented. Analyze and maintain change request.
- Responsible to develop the SW-Architecture according to the requirements and decomposes it into architectural blocks in a way that facilitates the split of work packages and integration sequence.
- Lead SW Developers and support them in module design andtesting.
- Plans and coordinates and monitors all SW development activities of a project.
- Provide solutions on Software Issues reported by Internal / External customers.
- "Manage SW project team to define, plan, realize and deliver agreed SW specific work products in time, quality, and cost. Reports the progress and status of the SW project."
Skills:
- M.S/ BE/ M. Tech in Electrical or Electronics or communication or computer engineering or Information Technology or related major.
- It is a great plus to have experience in EV components / EV technologies like Battery management, charging system etc.
- 8+ of experience in Embedded Software Development.
- Experience with Software Development life cycle.
- Familiarity with Agile/SAFe tools and processes.
- Extensive experience in software development and architecture ensuring architecture satisfies allocated requirements to specific subsystem/components and monitor implementation to reduce architectural scope creep.
- Strong background in embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Experience with automotive software standards (e.g., AUTOSAR, ISO 26262).
- Strong in C/C++ programming, C/C++ compiler/ post-buildconcept.
- Experience with software development tools and environments.
- Experience with software integration andtesting.
- Strong background in software/system design to align to standards and enable portability and efficient re-use for futureapplications.
- Familiarity with software security and data protection.
- At least 3 years of experience in Automotive domain, Automotive communication protocol (CAN, Flexray), diagnostic, and related tools.
- Experience with functional safety concept and method in Automotivedomain.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of electric vehicle systems and technologies.
- Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
