QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER

Job Summary

QA Engineer responsible for ensuring software quality through manual testing, automation testing, API testing, and web application testing. The role focuses on Selenium automation using Java, REST/SOAP API validation, functional and regression testing, defect management, and quality assurance practices throughout the software development lifecycle. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify defects, validate application functionality, and support reliable software releases in Agile environments.

Key Responsibilities

•     Analyse application requirements and prepare test cases covering functional, regression, sanity, UI, integration, API, and web application testing.

•     Design, execute, and maintain manual test cases and test scenarios to validate application functionality and software quality.

•     Perform UI automation testing using Selenium frameworks with Java to support efficient and repeatable test execution.

•     Conduct API testing and validation of RESTful web services and SOAP/REST interfaces using Postman and SoapUI.

•     Execute functional, regression, sanity, integration, and UI testing to identify defects and verify application behaviour.

•     Record, track, investigate, and report defects throughout the testing lifecycle, ensuring appropriate follow-up and resolution.

•     Prepare test execution reports, defect summaries, and test summary documentation to communicate testing progress and outcomes.

•     Participate in test plan reviews and collaborate with development teams to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues.

•     Apply SDLC, STLC, Bug Life Cycle, and Agile methodologies to support structured testing and quality assurance processes.

•     Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to communicate testing status, discuss open issues, and meet project timelines.

•     Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, testing practices, and automation execution within assigned projects.

Requirements

•     5–10 years of experience in software quality assurance, manual testing, automation testing, or related QA functions.

•     Hands-on experience with Selenium UI automation frameworks using Java.

•     Strong experience in manual, functional, regression, sanity, UI, web application, and integration testing.

•     Experience in API testing of RESTful webservices and SOAP/REST interfaces using Postman and SoapUI.

•     Knowledge of test case preparation, test execution, defect tracking, test reporting, and test summary preparation.

•     Understanding of SDLC, STLC, Bug Life Cycle, test plan reviews, and Agile methodologies.

•     Ability to analyse application requirements, identify defects, investigate technical issues, and communicate findings effectively.

•     Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.

•     Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
