This role helps drive schedule accuracy and operational efficiency by aligning inputs from the Demand team to ensure on-time delivery of machined hardware thru Machining, Assembly & Final inspection. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in MRP/MES systems, strong cross-functional collaboration skills, and thrives in dynamic, high-volume production environments.

The Role

  • Aid in developing and maintaining work center schedules specifically for machined parts, in-process inspection, assembly, & final inspection operations.
  • Help prepare and update daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for these critical work centers, ensuring alignment with Program and Planning Teams.
  • Actively host daily production standups and cross-functional readiness meetings to communicate status, resolve blockers, and adjust work center priorities.
  • Proactively push/pull jobs within machining, inspection, assembly, and shipping phases to reduce WIP stagnation and to meet build targets.
  • Validate that Material Requirements Planning (MRP) dates reflect actual shop floor conditions, making corrections with Planning Teamt to avoid misalignment in downstream workcenters.
  • Help Investigate part shortages and labor constraints impacting these work centers; coordinate with planning and manufacturing engineering to resolve gaps.
  • Provide schedule visibility and performance updates to shop leads and senior leadership, highlighting risks and opportunities within assigned work centers.
  • Support the development and implementation of tools to improve real-time tracking, capacity planning, and resource forecasting in machining, inspection, and assembly.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to improve product quality, throughput, and efficiency within the focused work centers.
  • Identify and execute flow improvements across machining and assembly areas to streamline operations and reduce WIP.
  • Clearly communicate daily execution priorities to machine shop, inspectors, and assembly supervisors to maintain alignment with production goals.

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
  • 5+ years of production planning or scheduling experience in aerospace or high-complexity manufacturing environments
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP  and MES systems
  • Expertise in production planning, forecasting, and schedule optimization
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet), JIRA, and Confluence
  • Ability to navigate and influence in cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, production, quality)
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Siemens NX PLM and master BOM conversion (eBOM to mBOM)
  • Track record of improving on-time delivery, reducing schedule variance, and driving systemic improvements

Work Environment

  • This role operates in a fast-paced, high-mix production environment where priorities can shift rapidly based on engineering changes, supply chain constraints, and program milestones. The environment demands tight cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, quality, logistics, and program teams to ensure daily execution aligns with long-term build plans.
  • Success in this environment requires hands-on engagement on the shop floor, strong systems knowledge, and the ability to anticipate and resolve scheduling risks before they impact key deliverables.
  • The culture emphasizes proactive communication, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement to meet aggressive program timelines while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.
