Via's IT team is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and manage complex enterprise technology initiatives from project inception through implementation and operational transition.

This role will manage a diverse portfolio of business applications, infrastructure, cloud, CRM, analytics, integration, platform modernization, and process improvement initiatives. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for project planning and execution, requirements analysis, stakeholder communication, resource coordination, budget and vendor management, risk management, governance, and deployment readiness.

The successful candidate will thrive in a matrix environment and work closely with business systems analysts, product owners, subject matter experts, developers, infrastructure and security teams, external vendors, centralized PMO teams, and business stakeholders.

Reporting to the Head of Via IT, this role will partner closely with cross-functional teams including Program Management(Patent Pool), Royalty Services, Finance, Accounting, IT Infrastructure, Information Security, and internal/external audit teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise technology initiatives, including business system implementations, upgrades, cloud and infrastructure projects, analytics modernization, integrations, platform modernization, and business process improvements.

  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, timelines, resource requirements, and implementation roadmaps.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans and coordinate execution across business, development, QA, architecture, infrastructure, security, and operations teams.

  • Monitor project progress against scope, schedule, budget, quality, and delivery commitments.

  • Adapt project delivery approaches based on appropriate PMLC methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid models, and provide guidance to project teams.

  • Coordinate UAT planning, readiness reviews, deployment planning, go-live activities, and transition to production operations.

  • Facilitate project governance meetings, core team meetings, steering committees, sprint ceremonies, and executive reviews as appropriate.

Business Requirements & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, refine, and document business and functional requirements.

  • Translate business requirements into clear specifications and application functionality in partnership with business analysts, developers, architects, and vendors.

  • Facilitate discussions across stakeholders to resolve competing priorities and arrive at practical, mutually acceptable solutions.

  • Work closely with cross-functional business teams to support requirements for homegrown .NET applications, SFDC/SAP and other enterprise business systems, as needed.

  • Partner with stakeholders to prioritize application defects, enhancements, and project requirements.

  • Serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, external vendors, centralized technology teams, and executive leadership.

  • Provide clear and timely project status reporting, including milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and delivery forecasts.

Risk, Issue & Change Management

  • Proactively identify project risks, issues, dependencies, blockers, assumptions, and potential delivery impacts.

  • Develop and track mitigation and contingency plans and drive timely resolution of cross-functional issues.

  • Manage escalations involving scope, timeline, budget, resources, quality, or delivery commitments.

  • Facilitate project change control processes and ensure material changes to scope, timeline, cost, or requirements are appropriately evaluated and approved.

  • Partner with business and IT leadership on prioritization, implementation, and go-live decisions.

Budget, Vendor & Procurement Management

  • Monitor project budgets, financials, forecasts, vendor expenditures, and technology-related costs.

  • Manage vendor relationships and hold implementation partners accountable for agreed scope, schedules, quality, and deliverables.

  • Coordinate Statements of Work (SOWs), Change Orders, vendor contracts, professional services engagements, software licenses, subscriptions, renewals, and procurement activities.

  • Review vendor proposals and status reports and coordinate with internal stakeholders throughout vendor selection, contracting, implementation, and renewal processes.

  • Research and assess new applications, technology tools, and vendors based on business and technical requirements.

  • Partner with Information Security and other technology teams on vendor assessments, security reviews, audit requirements, and tool screening.

Resource & Portfolio Management

  • Coordinate resource allocation across multiple concurrent projects and operational initiatives.

  • Work with internal employees, contractors, consultants, and vendor resources to support delivery commitments.

  • Monitor project capacity, staffing requirements, dependencies, and resource constraints.

  • Support contractor onboarding, contract extensions, resource planning, and related workforce coordination activities.

  • Maintain portfolio-level visibility into project priorities, timelines, resource needs, and delivery risks.

Governance, Compliance & Process Management

  • Ensure projects comply with established PMO, PMLC, SDLC, change management, SOX, security, and audit requirements.

  • Maintain appropriate project governance artifacts, including project charters, scope documentation, project plans, communication plans, risk and issue registers, assumptions, decisions, approvals, and implementation documentation.

  • Coordinate stakeholder approvals and governance checkpoints throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Support IT SOX controls and collaborate with IT Security, internal audit teams, and third-party auditors as needed.

  • Help streamline processes and improve coordination across business applications, infrastructure, security, and other technology teams.

  • Promote consistent project management practices, documentation standards, and delivery processes across initiatives.

Communication, Training & Knowledge Management

  • Prepare concise project status reports and presentations for business stakeholders, IT leadership, and executive management.

  • Communicate complex project information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Maintain organized project repositories and ensure relevant project documentation remains current and accessible.

  • Develop training materials and coordinate or deliver training and guidance to business system users where required.

  • Share project management best practices, tools, and knowledge with project teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Information Systems, Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Master’s degree is a plus.

  • 8+ years of experience in IT Project Management, PMO, or a similar technology delivery role.

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex enterprise software, business systems, infrastructure, or technology transformation projects.

  • Strong understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience managing projects using Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies.

  • Proven ability to define project scope, establish schedules, coordinate resources, manage budgets and risks, communicate status, and successfully deliver project outcomes.

  • Experience gathering and analyzing business requirements and translating them into functional requirements and technology solutions.

  • Experience managing external vendors, consulting partners, contracts, SOWs, Change Orders, procurement activities, and software licenses.

  • Experience managing enterprise initiatives involving areas such as Salesforce/CRM, cloud platforms, analytics, integrations, infrastructure, and enterprise applications.

  • Working knowledge of enterprise project and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Smartsheet.

  • Experience working with governance, change management, SOX controls, information security, and internal/external audit processes.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across executive leadership, business operations, technology teams, and external partners.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to independently communicate with a broad range of technical and business stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail and delivery commitments.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies, business processes, and tools and share knowledge effectively with others.

The Denver Area base salary range for this full-time position is $109,700 - 150,600and can vary if outside of this location. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
