DolMel™ is looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented Accountant to help strengthen our financial systems and support the growth of our manufacturing business.
We are seeking someone reliable, proactive, and organized who can maintain accurate financial records, manage tax compliance, and provide practical financial insights.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or with related field of study
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years experience
Practical experience in bookkeeping, account reconciliation, financial reporting, and Ethiopian tax compliance.
Experience with Peachtree 2010 is an advantage.

Work arrangement: Part-time, on-site
Duties and ResponsibilitiesAccounting and Financial Records
Record and monitor sales, purchases, expenses, and other financial transactions accurately and on time.
Maintain organized accounting records, including invoices, purchase receipts, payment vouchers, and supporting documents.
Manage petty cash, verify supporting documents, and reconcile balances regularly.
Reconcile bank accounts, cash balances, customer accounts, and supplier accounts.
Track receivables and payables, follow up on outstanding balances, and support payment planning.
Tax and Compliance
Prepare tax calculations, reports, and filings, including VAT, withholding tax, payroll income tax, and pension contributions, as applicable.
Monitor filing and payment deadlines and maintain complete supporting records.
Coordinate with relevant government offices on tax, financial, and related administrative matters.
Manufacturing Costing and Inventory
Prepare and update product cost calculations, including raw materials, direct labor, and manufacturing overhead.
Track raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods in coordination with the production team.
Support stock counts, reconcile inventory records, and investigate discrepancies.
Monitor production costs and wastage to support pricing and cost-control decisions.
Reporting and Financial Planning
Complete monthly reconciliations and support timely financial closing.
Prepare financial statements and management reports.
Monitor cash flow and upcoming payment requirements.
Support budgeting, expense monitoring, and analysis of actual results against budgets.
Identify gaps in documentation and financial controls and recommend practical improvements.
Proficiency in Peachtree 2010 or another accounting software package.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Understanding of product costing and inventory accounting; manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with close attention to accuracy and supporting documentation.
Good organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines while working independently.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
A high level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
Availability to work on-site in Addis Ababa on an agreed part-time schedule.
