About the Team
Design Program Managers make DoorDash's Design Studio run better. As owner of the Logistics pillar within Design Operations, you're accountable for one of our most important operating outcomes: maximizing the bandwidth of the team.
About the Role
You'll find where ICs and managers lose time, fragmented workflows, manual processes, meeting overload, unclear rhythms, and you'll define and build the tools and systems that fix it. That might mean shipping a new internal tool, automating a recurring workflow, redesigning how scheduling or reviews work, or establishing a better operating cadence. You own the full loop: diagnose the problem, design the system, build the tool, measure whether it worked.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Own the Logistics outcome, maximize the bandwidth of the team. ICs and managers have more usable time. Meeting load decreases. The team can focus on high-value work.
- Identify the biggest sources of operational drag across the Studio and turn them into a prioritized roadmap of tools and process fixes.
- Define and build the tools, automations, and workflows that reduce manual coordination, including for scheduling, budgets, vendor management, and event logistics.
- Redesign how the Studio operates: reviews, planning cadences, rhythms for both ICs and managers, information flows, whatever determines how fast teams can move.
- Measure whether your systems work, usable time for ICs and managers, meeting load, adoption, hours of manual work eliminated, and iterate.
- Turn recurring requests into scalable solutions. The second time a problem shows up, build the thing that stops a third.
- Own scheduling, budget, vendor, and logistics programs as a builder, not a permanent executor, your job is to make them need less manual effort every quarter.
- Partner with (and, as scope grows, help develop) other DPMs on the Logistics pod.
We're excited about you because you have…
- 5+ years in operations, program management, or business operations, building systems and tools that made a complex org run better. Design/product/creative org experience is a plus; EA or Chief of Staff backgrounds are welcome if you've built beyond pure execution.
- A builder mindset: you've created tools, workflows, or automations that replaced manual work - not just performed manual work well.
- Product-manager instincts applied to operations: find the real pain point, diagnose root cause, prototype, ship, measure, iterate.
- The ability to own an outcome independently at L4/L5 scope - you don't need the problem pre-scoped for you.
- Comfort with AI and no-code tooling (Claude, Cursor, Figma, or similar) to prototype and ship internal tools without needing an engineer.
- Strong written/verbal communication and the judgment to handle sensitive leadership and operational info with discretion.
What success looks like
Maximize the bandwidth of the team. ICs and managers have more usable time. Meeting load decreases. Team can focus on high-value work. Manual workflows become automated. Recurring problems become systems that scale. Your job is to create capacity - not just manage it.
