About you and this role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Delivery Technician in Seadrift (TX, USA).

In this role you will share the responsibility for the implementation of the Environmental management system (work processes, standards, procedures) with the Environmental Specialist and Environmental Leader in order to meet business objectives and to maintain the license to operate. You will provide hands-on Environmental activities for a specific plant or plants.

Responsibilities

  • Implements detailed, task level, day to day environmental programs, utilizing the Environmental work process, standards and procedures.
  • Ensures that the environmental aspects of Operating Discipline are adequate and applied to achieve environmental performance goals. In most cases, would perform the role of Section owner for the Environmental section of Operating Discipline.
  • Acts as the Plant resource for related environmental information on procedures, guidelines and standards.
  • Plant contact for environmental issues.
  • Coaches teams and individuals on environmental related tasks and activities.
  • Assists in developing and achieving area or plant Environmental goals.
  • Ensures compliance tasks are completed.
  • Performs / coordinates certain environmental monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting for the Plant.
  • As required participates in the environmental related reviews and projects.
  • Coordinates the schedules for audits in the Environmental related areas
  • As required conducts and documents investigations of incidents and ensures follow up actions to prevent re-occurrences.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required
  • Willingness to work the on-call schedule.
  • Current, valid US drivers license.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Access or related spreadsheet/ database applications
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or similar discipline or relevant Military experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in an operations or Maintenance role within a Chemical Manufacturing, Industrial, Refinery, and/or Oil and Gas environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Able to work in all types of weather, including heat, cold, and rain.
