Downer Professional Services is seeking an experienced Scheduler to support the delivery of complex maritime capability programs across acquisition, sustainment and upgrade activities.
About the Role
Working within an integrated project environment, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and analysing project schedules that support critical Navy and Defence outcomes. Partnering with Project Managers, engineers, logisticians, Commonwealth stakeholders and industry partners, you will provide schedule governance, forecasting and performance reporting to ensure key milestones and capability objectives are achieved.

What You'll Do
As a Scheduler, you will provide planning and scheduling expertise across the project lifecycle, ensuring accurate forecasting, effective schedule management and informed decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop, maintain and manage integrated master schedules for maritime acquisition, sustainment and upgrade programs.
- Monitor schedule performance, critical paths, dependencies and milestones to identify emerging risks and opportunities.
- Conduct schedule analysis and forecasting to support project planning, decision-making and delivery outcomes.
- Produce schedule reports, dashboards and performance metrics for Defence and program stakeholders.
- Support governance activities including baseline management, schedule reviews, gate reviews and project reporting requirements.
You will work closely with project teams to ensure schedules remain accurate, aligned and reflective of program priorities, while proactively identifying issues that may impact delivery.
About You
You are a highly organised planning professional with experience supporting complex Defence, maritime, engineering or infrastructure projects. You enjoy working with large datasets, analysing project performance and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Experience in project scheduling, project controls or planning within Defence, maritime, engineering, infrastructure or a similarly complex environment.
- Strong proficiency using scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Open Plan or similar.
- Knowledge of integrated scheduling methodologies, critical path analysis and project reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
