Project Manager

We have an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our Energy & Utilities team. Based in Invercargill, you'll lead the successful delivery of technically complex projects that require strong stakeholder engagement, early contractor involvement, and collaborative partnerships with our customers.
You'll play a key role in keeping projects moving forward, removing roadblocks, managing risk, and driving outcomes that create lasting value for our customers and the communities they serve.
Ngā pūkenga matua | About You
Working closely with clients, delivery teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, you'll help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
You'll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience in Project Management within civil construction, water infrastructure, or a related utilities environment
- Experience managing multiple work sites, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders
- Strong commercial acumen, including monthly claims, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting
- The ability to develop and monitor project programmes, budgets, and delivery methodologies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Exposure to Three Waters projects will be highly regarded
- A strong commitment to safety leadership and Zero Harm principles
- Well-developed computer and project reporting skills
Te mahi | What You'll Do
No two days are the same. You'll be responsible for leading projects from planning through to delivery while ensuring strong customer outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building trusted relationships with customers and project stakeholders
- Anticipating risks and resolving issues before they impact delivery
- Ensuring contract performance meets quality, safety, and delivery requirements
- Managing project budgets, forecasts, costs to complete, and performance reporting
- Verifying the accuracy of monthly claims and financial submissions
- Supporting the development of project methodologies, programmes, and delivery plans
- Coordinating people, plant, technology, and resources to achieve successful project outcomes
