About the Role

Retail Media is transforming how advertisers connect with consumers through personalised and targeted campaigns across retailers’ digital and physical touchpoints. As a Senior Software Engineer within Tesco Media, you will help build and scale products that enable advertisers and retailers to measure, optimise and improve campaign performance.

Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you will contribute to the design, development and delivery of high-quality software solutions. You'll combine strong technical expertise with a customer-first mindset, helping create innovative products that drive measurable business value.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll play a key role in delivering reliable, scalable and maintainable software solutions.

• Build and enhance customer-facing applications and platform capabilities using modern engineering practices.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers and Engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Design and develop scalable services, APIs and integrations that support Retail Media products.
• Champion software quality through testing, code reviews, CI/CD practices and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to technical discussions, knowledge sharing and the adoption of engineering best practices across the team.

What We're Looking For

You'll bring a strong software engineering foundation and a passion for solving complex technical challenges.

• Experience developing and delivering scalable software applications in a modern engineering environment.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in backend development, focusing on performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Strong proficiency in C# and .NET Core, with expertise in developing RESTful APIs and
• Drive code quality, ensuring adherence to best practices, design patterns, and SOLID
• Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform C Azure), implementing cloud-native best practices for scalability, security, and resilience.
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm).
• Strong focus on non-functional requirements (NFRs) such as performance tuning, observability (monitoring/logging/alerting), and security best practices.
• Experience implementing unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing
• Proficiency in CI/CD automation, with experience in GitOps workflows and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Helm, or similar).
• Experience working in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and DevOps best
