Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Work Set-up:

• Hybrid set-up
• October: On-site training in Singapore (travel provision included).
• November - December: Continuation of training on-site in Manila.
• Standard work arrangement resumes thereafter, in line with the assigned project’s requirements.

Requirements, Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure across cloud and/or on-premise environments
• Architect and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including compute, networking, storage, and security configurations
• Lead infrastructure-as-code initiatives using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable, automated deployments
• Own containerization and orchestration strategy using Docker and Kubernetes
• Monitor system performance, capacity, and reliability, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks
• Design and maintain observability systems, including logging, monitoring, and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK, or similar)
• Lead incident response efforts, perform root-cause analysis, and drive post-mortems for infrastructure-related outages
• Establish and enforce infrastructure security best practices, including access control, secrets management, and vulnerability remediation
• Architect disaster recovery and business continuity strategies, including backup and failover systems
• Drive cost optimization initiatives across cloud infrastructure and resource utilization
• Collaborate closely with software engineering, DevOps, and security teams to align infrastructure with application needs
• Evaluate and introduce new tools, technologies, and practices to improve infrastructure reliability and developer productivity
• Define and maintain infrastructure documentation, runbooks, and architectural diagrams
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and contribute to infrastructure team hiring and onboarding
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide senior-level escalation support for critical infrastructure issues
• Lead capacity planning and infrastructure scaling efforts to support business growth
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers, and contribute to hiring and technical onboarding processes
• Communicate progress to stakeholders
• Keep abreast of new digital product and technology trends that may significantly affect the operations of the Client
• Keep up to date on training and continuous personal development plans
• Assist in pre-sales, post-sales and product development to win and maintain clients
• Align with the culture of the company
• Participate in company events that foster camaraderie and build rapport and teamwork
• Communicate regularly and effectively with Client and customers as needed
• Familiarity and relevant experience with the insurance industry
• Conduct Knowledge Transfer (KT) sessions and training for team members and stakeholders, including during the Singapore (October) and Manila (November-December) training engagements.
• Develop and deliver training materials, guides, and documentation to support upskilling and smooth knowledge handover.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 6+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems engineering, cloud engineering, or a related role.
• Strong experience in cloud infrastructure, preferably Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Hands-on experience with servers, networking, storage, virtualization, and operating systems (Linux/Windows).
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, load balancing, and routing.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent.
• Experience with CI/CD, automation, and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience implementing and maintaining monitoring, logging, alerting, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, access management, identity, and compliance best practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and production issues.
• Experience designing and implementing scalable, highly available, and reliable infrastructure solutions.
• Strong understanding of performance optimization, capacity planning, and infrastructure cost management.
• Experience working with enterprise IT environments and production systems.
• Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and infrastructure standards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work with technical and non-technical teams.
• Demonstrated ability to lead infrastructure projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing infrastructure risks.
• Prior experience mentoring or leading engineers a plus
• Strong communication skills and comfort working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities and driving successful project outcomes.
• Prior experience conducting Knowledge Transfer (KT) sessions, training, or facilitation for teams and/or clients is highly preferred.
• Willingness and availability to travel to Singapore for training in October, and to continue training in Manila from November to December.
